Lets say you get a persons number after meeting them at a bar or party. Whats the best way to call them up and just start a converstaion without sounding completely boring? And how long after you get their number do you call without sounding desperate and all?

as far as when to call, i dont think you need to worry about that. if she gave you her number, she wants you to call.

as far as what to say, it can be really hard to make conversation with someone you met like that. i think the best thing is to just call and ask her to hang again. simple.

and pretend you lost her number (maybe a week so
she doens't forget you) and tell her how you looked
all over. she'll be touched. then just ask her if she
wants to hang out some where really public, even
though you have no intentions (yeah right) of a

going in, busy non romantic resuraunts like fridays
or applebees are great for that. and make sure u

and if she was plastered and gave you her number and its most likely she gave it to you BECAUSE she was plastered...don't call...cause you'll probably get the "and you are?", which is funny but a little humbling...

I've acquired three numbers from three girls in the last 6 weeks... I called all of them, and didn't "close" on it because I just kept talking and talking trying to make conversation. Forcing the issue as it were.

You get the number - you call, say "hi how you doing", make some QUICK small talk, and tell her you'd like to hang out again.

10 minutes, in and out, smash and grab job. This isn't a job interview.

Only go longer if SHE INITIATES more conversation.

If not, close the deal within 10 mins.

Definately call and don't wait for more than two days. Women are looking for men just as much as men are looking for women. I hearing more and more often these days from my female friends that they are tired of giving their number out and not getting a call. What's the point of getting the number if you're not going to call. The problem is, most men get numbers for the ego.

So I say, if you're interested, call, what's the worst that can happen, she hang up on you and if she does, so what. It's not like you are ever going to see her again and if you do, what are the chances of her remembering who you are or vice versa. When you call, be yourself. Keep it to small talk and if you feel a connection, ask if you can get together with her one day and then just let it ride. Whatever happens, happens.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have called her recetly and at first it was REALLY Unmcomfortable. Someone answered her phone with a really mean <i>YEA WHATDA WANT</I> I got all scared and stuff but played it calm asking for the person. Then Another Person picks up the phone and in another really uptight grouchy voice asking me who I am. Calmly I said my first name and explained I met her at a freinds house last Saturday.
