noice!! i'm actually a huge fan of russo. as long as he doesn't wrestle :)

he did some great work with the wwf back in the day, and would've with the wcw if he wasn't so handcuffed by egos

If this is true I wonder what, if any, would his on-air role would be?

Could he start with a stable fighting against Vince McMahon? Or could it be a ploy like Paul Heyman with the storyline of the return of Extreme?

Why not, do something else!

I'm really digging the NWA-TNA... be crazy like those Southern yahoos!

You know, I was thinking to myself the other day....the WWF is in bad shape. This Austin thing has really hurt them. But they can't possibly get any worse.....they'll probably just remain steady, even though the product is bad, and maybe pull out of it with time.

Then they do this.

WWE seems to be in a state of panic due to recent drops in ratings, house show attendance, and overall business. Much of the creative team realized that the promotion needed to spend the summer rebuilding so to speak, and hope that things would then turn around in the fall. However, Vince McMahon apparently wanted a quicker solution, one that could turn things around immediately, and felt Russo could possibly do that. Many also feel that McMahon is very desperate to make the brand extension work, rather than admit another public failure as he did with the XFL.

Unfuckingbeleivable.

Desperation thy name is McMahon. For those keeping score, this (rehiring Russo) is Panic button #1. Signing Bischoff for an on-air feud with McMahon will be panic button #2. The final, last straw, that absolutely proves the WWF is hopelessly lost to turn the tide and recover will be Bill Goldberg. He's the final step, the "break glass in case of emergency" that will prove that they will do ANYTHING to get someone, anyone, interested in the product.

Some of you are happy with this news, but really, it makes my heart sink. Now is a good time for me to get out of the WWF as a fan. Russo is poison to good product.

Who knows, hell, he MAY turn the company around and get them high ratings again. But the product will be horrible. I was around for Crash TV, and it fucking SUCKED.

He better not be on tv. He left the WWF to get face time on WCW and he sucked.

Say what you want about VinnieRu, but he was responsible for some of the all time classic angles on WWF TV. Such as

Russo off the air and working with Heyman may work.

Goldberg comes in I'd be pissed but I'd stick around.

Bischoff comes to the WWF and I get into underwater basket weaving to take up all of my new found free time.

If Russo sticks to what he does best and stays the fuck behind the scenes then I'm feeling very positive about the WWE future. If Heyman, Mcmahon, and Russo put their collective heads together the possibility for longterm good product isn't that far fetched.

Stop asking the Fiend how he feels! He never feels good and he hates you ALL!!

i agree with having him stay behind the scenes. he just got damn silly with all the new blood and R&B security crap. although i did think it was kinda cool when all you heard was his voice from behind the desk. that was right at the begining of his WCW run. i was also 13 but i thought it was cool.

Hey, Russo's back!

Oh wait.....now he isn't.

Yep. Looks like he's already gone. Apparently he showed up for the weekly creative / booking meeting, and his ideas were so horrible that afterwards everyone freaked out. The excuse being given was that he didn't seem "in touch" with the talent or their characters. No shit, he wasn't "in touch" with the talent back in the Crash TV days.

So now Russo has either left already or is just a "consultant" working for Vince.

I'm actually shocked that the WWF realized what a mistake they'd made.
