hey everyone, its been awhile since I posted ANYTHING on here, I dont get online much anymore, and I am always away at some car race track in another state, but I really wanted to make the fight friday nite, but had to goto a car race in Central PA instead. Anyways, I talked to Al in person last tuesday nite up @ the station and he really thought he was going to win. He said he signed the contract to leave when he was intoxicated. Here is something that really frightened me. If you heard the show last tuesday you know I bombed. I totally froze on the air, and they were picking on me, even the callers. I come into the green room and said to Al, "Now I know how you feel" he said "callers actually like me, you just sucked" or something along those lines...then i was talking to him and the show started again, and they were playing his sound drops and he was laughing at them in the production room like a raving lunatic. He was laughing at himself and then repeating his own sound drops to me, like I was his big audience. I believe Al Dukes went crazy in the head, sreiously mental, truly gone fishing crazy...Just my opinion. Love him or hate him, I am going to miss him. He was a good character to cheer against and just so damn clueless, and good, good luck rory, you have some interesting shoes to fill. And to all the board members I hope to see ya'll sometime soon again! I will post more often now that I am getting some of my video stuff done ahead of time. I miss ya'll and there are a lot of new names on here I want to meet soon!
I still hate gay randy.

W/O getting into a long story, Al was indirectly responsible for me getting back into the radio business, and a lot of his comments and advice (backhanded as it may seem) helped.

So I'll miss him, as well.

PST? Is that a radio station? I thought they just bought a six disc changer and put in the five "TOP HITS" cd's.

i've said it b4, and i'll say it again. i actaully like al. i
mean hes not such a dildo, and most people who
have met him agree. i mean hes kind of a dong,
and no i wouldn't want to spend extended periods
of time with him, but hes just an anal retentive guy
who tends to excreet things into his pants. what
can you do? i will miss him, because who else is
going to be the gay guy on broadway??

I agree that Al did go clinically insane. I listened to the show faithfully for 2 years or so. When Al first came around last year he was a boring (but stable) guy. I had to stop listening to the show for aboot 3 months (while I was travelling for work) and when I finally did get to start listening again...Al had obviously flipped his lid! He speech patterns were not at all the same. He seriously took a turn for the worse. Kinda like an Anakin/Darth situation; Al just seemed to be a totally different person. He was definitely pushed over the edge. I would estimate that at least %50 of every show was deicated to driving Al insane (but all the while pretending NOT to be doing it on purpose). It was like watching an experiment on a lab rat. To those of you who listen everyday, it might not have seemed all THAT noticeable, but because I left for a while and came back, it was really easy for me to see the difference in Al and how he was being treated. It's kinda like when you haven't seen someone in a looong time and when you do see them, they look much heavier (or slimmer etc...). Those who live with that person don't notice the change because it was gradual. But you notice immediatley because you're comparing them to an old mental snapshot.
Personally, I was entertained. For Al..all I have to say is

I met Al in November when I went to the station to pick up my prize for winning the MP3 Song Parody contest. I expected an intern to give me the prize but I was pleasantly surprised when Al came up to compliment the song and thank me for sending it in. I told him that he took a beating on the phones the previous show and he smiled and said that he put all those calls through. A classy guy and a good sport. His character was the perfect foil for the show and will be missed.
