ticket scalpers are slippery ones

last night i went to see peter murphy, and was waiting outside of irving plaza for my friends to arrive. there were scalpers going up and down the blocking asking if anyone wanted to buy or sell tickets. there was this couple there, and i guess they had an extra ticket. so the scalper offers them $10 for it (it's like a $25 ticket). since they're about to go in i guess they figured they might as well take the $10, so they sell it. then, they head instead. about 5 minutes later, they come back out screaming at each other. apparently, the chick handed the guy 2 tickets - 1 for him and 1 to sell, but the guy thought it was just the one to sell... so he gave the scalper guy both tickets. they went over to the scalper and told him what had happened but, shockingly, the scalper would not return their ticket, said he had no idea about that, etc. so the couple continues to fight and decide that they just need to go buy a new ticket and all when the scalper guy comes back around and offers to sell them a ticket for $20. their ticket. and they bought it, too. i was so disgusted... i guess contrary to what we've all been taught, you really can't trust your scalper
