First its because the sports junkies Numbers for the key demographics is the highest of any show on WJFK. Their last book they got an 18.7 with men age 18-34 that is why they are on the air. And as much as i like ron and fez the sports junkies are a much better show. And since you know nothing about the show to comment its all about sports is way off. They are about 10% sports 90% bullshitting. One of their last promotions was the great american porno swap

Yes it is. 106.7 WJFK. From 11pm-2:30am/3am nightly. The Best Of's run from 12 midnight Sat. till 6 am Sunday morning and 11 or 12am Sunday until about 3am Monday morning.

It's disappointing becuase they are not live and the station does not include them in their regular promo.
I love the show.

Knowledged-One, honestly, why the hell are you here? Sure, you don't HATE R&F, but it sounds like it's an effort for you to even like the show a little...

And Moe, trust me, the Junkies are actually have a damn fine radio show. And I'd say that sports get maybe a little over an hour during each show, the rest is them with contests, ranting about movies, music, whatever...they're great with the fans, the show is hilarious, and they make Don & Mike look even worse. It's a lose-lose situation if R&F went live on WJFK...gotta pick the boys over the Junkies, but just barely...good original shows are in VERY short supply on the radio here in DC, so let's not kill off the one good thing we've got going here...

The reason im here is simple, im here to state my opinion like everyone else, and while not always the popular opinion i will state it. I think what people dont realize is im going to be honest, i dont sugar coat it. I like Ron and Fez for my nightly ride home ( I work nights), but i honestly dont think they are better then the sports junkies thats my opinion, i wont become one of the sheep and say what i think other people want to hear. Sorry if i play the devils advocate and speak on unpopular things (like the fact i like don and mike), but i think it would be even worse if i accepted what people wrote at face value. And if you look through my posts you will see i never (well once) personally attack any member on the board, without a reason and never do i curse at a person; however the sheep from N.Y. choose to attack me personally for my opinion so how am i the bad guy

Yea the junkies are there for another 3 years. I listened to the junkies for about a month, its true they hardly talk about sports at all but i got annoyed how everything is "money".

I Love the sports junkies. Everyone talks about how great D & M is or how great O & A is (depending on which camp you reside with, personally I think both are OK). The REAL reason I listen to WJFK (I live near DC) is to hear the Sports Junkies and Ron and Fez. Both of them are Far better than O&A and D&M. I am torn though, I would LOVE to hear R&F live but I don't want to lose the junkies either because they rock (BTW it is accurate that generally they only spend 1hr of their 4hr show deicated to sports). I think the best think would be to eliminate O&A or D&M (I'm not going to advocate which, I'm not an idiot, though if I have a few typos pardon me, I've had a few beers) and give R&F their time slot, then I could hear both the junks and R&F live! the best of both worlds.

Yeah, I would like to hear Ron and Fez live, but the sports junkies are the pride of WJFK since Don and Mike began to go downhill, it is possible that if Don and Mike get cancelled in DC or switch stations, The Junkies will go to the 11-3 slot (which means a good lead into O+A) and R+F will occupy the 7-11. The other possibility is if WJFK puts Don and Mike on Tape delay.

But unfortunatley, Don and Mike are DC grown, so it wouldnt go over well with the DC listeners.

If you wanna know what side I support, its O+A, because 2 years ago, Don and Mike were funny, now they suck and I just got into O+A in August of 2001. Ever since, I've been listening to the Radio more than I watch TV and Iwould like to go into radio for a career.
