Ladies be cautious when renting

I have had experiences in my past with male landords (nothing against the men in this forum), but want to just caution single ladies about who they choose to rent from.

I knew of a guy who rented a house out to 3 ladies. He was brought up on charges of going into their apartments when they were gone and going through their lingerie drawers.

I was renting a 2 family house out and it was bought out by a new landlord (single older man). I asked him what my status would be (because he could have thrown the existing tenants out). He grabbed my arm and said "don't worry 'baby' you won't be thrown out", and there was other stuff that went on. It got to the point I was checking my bathroom for cameras.

All I have to say is be very careful of who you rent from especially if you are a single lady. A lot of landlords think they have a lot of power because a lot of people need places to stay and it is a hassle to move out.

Thanks for the suggestion, Garfield, but most apartments don't allow pets.

You can't imagine the nightmare I went through in that place.

Unfortunately, in most states, landlords (by law) have to have the keys to your apartment.

I think that guy also was going through my drawers while I was at work
