This came from 1wrestling.com:
WWF.com has posted an interview with HHH that they did yesterday at the Smackdown taping in Anaheim, CA. In the interview, they said that his injury actually occurred when he planted his left leg in the ring during the spot where Chris Jericho had Steve Austin in the Walls of Jericho. He tore his quadriceps muscle in the leg. He said he knew right away he was injured. He said the pain felt like he had been "shot in the leg". He said that when he looked at the muscle, it looked like it had torn and rolled up. People in the back on Monday, who saw him after the match, told me it looked like his leg was atrophied.
Triple H said that after the match, he knew he was "f***ed" and wasn't sure what he had done to his leg, only that it was bad. He said that when he was taken to the back, the team doctor for the San Jose Sharks told him he had torn something and set up an MRI for him right away. He then found out then that he had torn the underneath part of his quad and would need surgery. He said they have an idea of the damage now, but won't know totally what it is until they open him up and do the operation. He was in good spirits and said it was just a fluke thing and will be back in a few months. He said that he was told he will be out three to five months, but to expect it to more realistically be four or five.
Triple H will be headed to Birmingham, AL on Thursday to have surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews, who incidentally will also be operating on Rikishi's shoulder.
