'Diamond' Dallas Page Retires

Page Falkenberg a k a Diamond Dallas Page is retiring from wrestling because of neck problems. DDPs decision came after a meeting Tuesday with Vince McMahon and Greenville, S.C. Essentially, Page felt he was too old (46) to continue wrestling after the lengthy rehabilitation process that corrective surgery would require.

Page, one of the bigger stars in the boom period for World Championship Wrestling, is hoping to continue working in another capacity for WWE.

Page was always one of those great stories. Bar bouncer, club owner. Broke in managing, then announcing. Didn't get his big shot in the ring untill his late 30's. Put his body through hell. Memorable fued w/ Savage. And, without a doubt, he sold and made Goldberg look legit at Halloween Havoc '98. Good luck DDP, you will be missed.

I heard a while a go that DDP won some big bucks in lotto. Does anyone know if this is true?

I always liked DDP.While not the greatest wrestler ever, he always gave 100% in the ring. I never saw a DDP match where I said he looked lazy. He always gave it everything he had,and you have to respect that. Hopefuly he was smart with his money and can retire comfortably.
