OAK PARK, Mich. -- A man who police say castrated another man on his kitchen table faces possible charges.
Police on Saturday found the apparently willing victim, a 48-year-old Birmingham man, sitting on a curb in bloodstained blue jeans, Oak Park Detective Lt. Bruce Smith told The Daily Tribune of Royal Oak.
Smith said officers later found a pair of severed testicles in a Tupperware container in a refrigerator at the home of the suspect, a 29-year-old from Oak Park.
The suspect was released while authorities determine whether a crime occurred. Smith said the victim later underwent three hours of surgery at an area hospital.
The victim met the Oak Park man through the Internet. The pair chatted online before meeting in person, Smith said.
Smith said the Oak Park man removed the testicles with a scalpel while the other man was on the kitchen table. Afterward, the victim started bleeding uncontrollably, he said.
But the bleeding didn't start immediately. Smith said the suspect first stitched the wound, and the two sat around eating pie.
"The victim said this is something he wanted to do," Smith said. "I don't know why. It's unbelievable."
