i had to serve on a grand jury for a week a few years ago. there were mostly drug cases, one was a rape of a 14 year old girl by a friend of her mothers. we had one kinda big one. a lotto winner had a shootout with his ex lover and shot and killed her & her unborn baby and her father in law.

Jennitalia-My stepfather is the head of grand jury for our county, so I know what you dealt with...lol.

I was picked for jury duty for the first time last fall here in Texas. I got picked and started the case that day. Pretty boring. DWI and posession of marijuana. We convicted him of the drinking, not the weed! :) But I actually enjoyed being on it, but I have also grown up with lawyers so I find it all very interesting.

Yes. I served on a murder case 2 years ago at the Bronx county court house. It was about a shooting at a party in the Fordom road section of the Bronx. Guy got turned away from a party for being to rowdy and came back an hour later and shot up the guy he argued with and the rest of the apartment. After we found him guilty, the assistant D.A. told us that while he was in prison waiting for the trial he shanked two people and put another in the hospital.

Two side notes:
First, S.D. Jones was in the jury pool at the same time as me. And second it was the first time I heard the phrase chicken head.

I was on one last October. Some woman refused to pay her divorce attorney, so he sued her. She owed the money, so we made her pay. I know its usually bad to side with the lawyer, but this woman was a complete bitch.

I'm set to report to the courthouse for jury duty on June 12 - I'll let you know how it goes.

I've received 3 jury duty notices in my life. Two of them while I was in college which excluded me, and one that I filled out and returned for Grand Jury, but was never called.

I would enjoy doing it, as I've always been interested in parlimentary procedure, investigation, etc. I even participated in a few mock-trials when I was in High School.
