Damn, everyone seems to be pissed off about the final episode. Is everything about "instant gratification" these days? Executive Producer David Chase said that the series is similar to a movie, and he is setting up the story lines for a big payoff for next season, which may be James Gandolfini's last season. Consider this "The Empire Strikes Back" of the "Sopranos".

Heckler you said "excellent" now you may have a case on why it didn't "suck" but saying that it was excellence is far from true as well.
I don't think fans of the show wanted instant gratification, but wanted some sort of hook into next season. Something to grab the audience that for the next however many months we will be dieing to see the next seasons premier.
This entire season, every show was left un resolved, and the ends they tied up last night were done half-ass.
The only redeeming thing about the show last night was Jackie Jr. getting killed and every scene with Uncle Junior.
The fact is, even though Empire Strikes Back served as a bridge for Episodes 4 & 6, it still hit the audience with a big ending... "I am your Father" Last night show did not have that.

Like I mentioned earlier, this season is like a film and next season will be the payoff. I say "excellent" because I feel the show was well written, directed and acted, along with no cheap and easy resolution to the conflicts.
