I am half way through the HBO documentary "In Memorium" and I never really, really thought about the immense size of the balls that Rudi had on that day...There is no way on earth that I or anyone I know, would be able to handle what he handled, In the professional and humanistic manner in which he did...
I was barely even able to talk that day...And watching him talk about such an event....about people that he knew very well...makes me realize that he is one of the greatest men of this century.
Sorry to depress you all.

i agree completely, rich... i was never a huge guiliani fan before this, but it definitely changed my opinion of him. it is truly amazing how well he handled such an insanely difficult and emotional time. i think it helped a lot of people just to have him being there, so well composed, and to feel like someone was handling things when they couldn't. it's really a shame he couldnt have stayed in office longer, but he got this city through the horror of that day and the following weeks quite impressively

i was never a fan of guiliani's policies (big surprise coming from a Green like me), but the way he handled 9/11 proved that above all, he loves new york, and all new yorkers. what is more important than that in a mayor?

New york is the best...if not anything else, that movie made me proud to be a Ny'er. Rudy kicks ass

If I had a nickle for every put down, I'd hire someone to kill you.

Yeah, I agree Rich!

I was hysterical during the documentary! Seeing all of the angles of the plane entering the buildings, the people jumping to their deaths, the funerals, etc.

The man stepped up. No doubt. He totally took the weight of what happened, the responcibility, the sorrow and confusion of a city, and put it upon his shoulders. He knew how to lead, to command, and wisely surrounded himself with the most capable of assistants. And he always deflected the praise of his actions. A city, a nation, needed a hero, and he knew that. Instead of many thanks, he passed that praise onto the NYPD, the NYFD, the paramedics, and the countless of other beautiful souls who worked, mourned, died, saved, and prayed on that day. As much as we will not forget that day, we will never forget Rudy, and any of the heros. You can better see where light comes from on the most darkest of days. Thank god for their light. Our hearts are blinded with it.

Watching that Doc. made me feel nothing. After seeing thos images so many times, I am now numb to it.

BUt anyway, YAY Rudy! I would most definately vote for him if he ran for President. He did such an outstanding job handling 9/11. I commend him.

Although I did not see the documentary yet, I'll NEVER forget how incredible Guiliani was amidst the horror and chaos. He's truly an amazing man, and it's a shame it took a tragedy of this magnitude to let people see the kind of person he is.

I taped it, but have yet to muster the courage to watch it. The last documentary by the french guys following the probie fireman really shook me up. I am also one of those who prior to September 11th, despised Giuliani. As a city worker, u HAD to! He treated us very badly at the contract tables. That said, I agree that he showed how much he loved NY and what amazing inner strength he had, on that sad day and the months that followed. I'm not sure I want him back as my boss, but I look forward to shaking his hand someday.

Rudy can do anything he wants in my book. That's a mayer with balls and gusto. If he ever runs in an election where I can vote for him, He's got my vote. The man's a hero and a legend.

Gods Bless Rudy Giuliani!

He treated us very badly at the contract tables. that's a damn good point. my mom's a teacher in the city, and they've been working without a contract for over a year now, and it's illegal for them to strike

I have often thought that Giuliani will go down as the best mayor N.Y. ever had. I remember N.Y. before him - it was tragic. One of the other things that he should be commended for is that during the whole chaos of 9/11, I never heard of any stores or shops in the area that were looted. That is more than I can say for the former administrations, i.e, Mayor Koch.
