Just wondering if anyone ever calls 911 for a GOOD reason...I never seem to get those calls.

I called them when I was living in Jackson Heights. The response time was good. Out here in NJ I called them last year when my family and I lost our house in a fire. The response time wasn't that good. That's why we lost the house.

yea, my dad is a cop but when he and my mom went on vacation for the weekend my grandfather was watching me and my sisters and a guy came to drop something off for my boat. I saw him in my front yard paysing around with what I thought was a gun so i called 911 but no one answered so i looked out side and I saw him get in his car and leave. appearently it was a wrench but i still think it was a gun. what is funny is that i actualy met the gut because he works for my boat mechanic who is a friend of the family which we see at out summer comunity. hopefuly this made sense

I had a computer phone line that for some reason would call 911 like 4 times a day. This went on for 3 weeks until the phone company could fix it, and the Cops came EVERY TIME

What exactly is a good reason? I was walking down the street one night and saw two guys sticking a coat hanger down a car window. Seemed suspicious, expecially since it was dimly lit there and they were wearing hoods. So when I got to the end of the street, I decided to call 911 and report it. Should I have?

I remember checking my answering machine and their was a recording from the police saying a unit is on their way.

So I waited out front and when they came I told them I never asked for them to come by. Fucking phone company.

I had to call once in secaucus at the hotel i was working at cause a guest had a heart attack..response time was good but he had already died by then, here in nyc its great when i had the fight with the drugged out ass hole who beat up the woman in his room, the police got here super fast...then again i have made some cop friends on the overnight so i think that is why they got here faster...they were worried....which was nice

I don't remember ever calling, but I do remember always wanting to pull the fire alarm boxes in the street. One day my neighbors house was on fire and I ran like a 5 y/o kid to the box and pulled it!

Man I was such a rebel when I was young.

i had to call one time... my grandfather had like passed out in front of his building, and so i ran upstairs (this was before i had a cell phone) and called 911. i was completely freaked, but they were very nice and came quickly. and he was fine :)

I know I have called a few times but the last time I called was for a MVA on the Grand Central. The car was on fire, it looked like a nasty accident but everyone seemed to be out of their cars and okay. The odd thing was that I was on my way to take the Driver Safety Course that morning.

With the exception of Missy's stupid computer...These were all good reasons to call, and it wouldve been my pleasure to serve you. If you're ever in the Bronx (god forbid), hopefully you'll get mugged or see a heart attack or car crash or something..so we can meet! See Ya!!!

I called 911 once when I walked into Heckler's
house and saw what looked like a female body
laying on the floor that appeared to have been
