Honestly, I have no friggin' idea how radio ratings are compiled and released as "fact" on how a particular show is doing.
If I put 4 radios on in my house, will R+F do better than if I just listen on the one radio in my room? I am being a tad facetious, but, seriously, how does the whole process work?

Every once in a while someone calls me for a radio survey and I tell them what stations I listen too.

There are companies that radio stations suscribe to, and they break down the ratings and demos. Arbitron is a biggie, like Nielsen in Television. The link above will give you a very vague overall number. Check it out. <P>

I know in Canada they have these things that look like radar detectors and it detects what signals are being listened to in the car.
