I have to type up a quick music history report on
someone who I feel close to.
Weve already written three this semester.
ive already done Tony Bennet, & John Lennon. Now
I need some help deciding:
either
Ian Mackeye or Harley Flanagan

Ian was from the HC band Minor Threat and
basically started the straight edge movement.

harley was 11 yrs old when he began working with
his band The Stimulators and helped build one of
the premiere NYHC bands the Cro Mags.

What about G.G. Allin? There's a report that will be a must read. Hell, he calls himself the "Rock and Roll Terrorist" on his tombstone.
Check it out..

it's funny, when i started reading this post i was thinking ian mckaye. he is a really interesting guy, pivotal in the straight edge movement, and has real integrity musically and as far as the music industry. minor threat, embrace, fugazi, dischord records... you've got a lot of material there. and the fact that the movement's fairly small will probably just help this be a more focussed paper. i wish i could write it.. good luck!
