View Full Version : Which Job Would you take?
Ok so I need everyones advice, about a month ago I got my test info for the post office in the mail. Ive been studying my ass off for it. Just yesterday I found out I could have a Job with SouthWest airlines, working out in Suffolk CO. Now Both Jobs have great benifits, and great pay, which is what I think ever person looks for in a job. I think the post office will pay me more, but Im not sure about the location of the job. As for the job with southwest, I know exactly where Id be working and Its an easy commute from my place.
Your oppinions?

i have some questions back at you.. One what would you be doing for southwest airlines? would you be busting your ass everyday?
next ? what would you be doing for the post office? would you be a mail carrier or a sorter.. my friend was a sorter for little while and he was busting his ass everyday. you can never go wrong with working for uncle sam cause he never really downsizes were the airlines might.. also once you have a government job it is easier to get other better gov jobs.. the location of the post office job is the key factor in this position.. until you find out were you would be you really can't make a decision...

There's a lot to be said for both. Pros and cons for each:
Airline Job:
Pro: Great travel benefits for being an employee of the airline. Travel to cool places for next to nothing.
Con: The travel industry goes through some lean times sometimes, especially during times of recession and national fear. So job stability could be a factor.
Post Office:
Pros: Job stability and the benefits would be awesome.
Cons: Going "postal".
Go with your heart pal. I don't know how young you are, but if you're under 25 - personally I'd go with the airline.

Airline job would be somewhat less secure although NW is doing ok.

My sister works for the post office-hearing the stories she tells me about PO mgt. it's amazing more people don't go postal.

tough choice, a plus for the P.O. is you can transfer anywhere and the pay stays the same. Thats what I've heard anyway.
good luck ag.

romeo: that's true of all
government jobs.
I know a couple of people who
work for the post office. they're
all miserable. it's the
management.
My advice would be SouthWest.
