did anyone ever wonder why some bars charge to get in the i could understand if they have a band or something but if theres just a juke box playing why should i pay to get in its not like im gonna drink hey im playing for beer already do you have to take my 5 bucks to get in
thinking of a master plan aint nothing but sweat inside my hand so i dig deep in my pocket all my money is spent i dig deeper still coming up with lint so i start my mission leave my residence thinkinh how can i get some dead presidents
If I think about it I dont know of any bar that charges a cover fee without a band playing, Maybe Mulcahys in wantagh does but thats it, oh and Clubs of course

Some bars will try to get money out of anyone who walks through the door. When I used to do sound for my brother-in-law's band, I once got charged a cover charge (a place in Jersey that will remain nameless). They weren't charging cover until a certain hour, and then they sent a bouncer around to collect from the people that were in before the charging started at the door (including me behind the equipment!!)
I don't think all bars do this when no band is playing- just the money-hungry ones, or the ones that aren't making their rent.
