Prostitute 'bites off customer's finger when he refuses to pay'
Canadian police think a prostitute bit part of a customer's finger off when he refused to pay her.
Edmonton police say residents were woken by the sound of a man and woman fighting in a van.
The man vanished but left behind his company van with strands of the prostitute's hair and 2cm of his finger inside.
Police say they found the woman in a nearby home after she ran from the scene.
Police tracked the man down to hospital. They're considering assault charges.
"There's a lot of lessons here and they're all really apparent," Edmonton police spokesman Wes Bellmore told The Edmonton Sun.
The woman told officers she was working as a prostitute and the fight started when he refused to pay.
The man is described as in his 50s and heavily-built.
