YAY! I love Kirsten. Lately people in these reviews haven't been calling her that hot....I disagree. I think she's gorgeous. I don't even CARE if she can act or not.

Cant wait, im going after work tonight. I hear its a bit corny but i guess they have to appeal to a bigger audiance then the original Comic fans.

I seen it, pretty good, great villian (although doesnt William Dafoe look like he needs a steak??), lots of action, Kirstin Dunst is one piece of aish... Norton's line had me dying laughing. And the sad part was, I was the only person in whole theatre that laughed at Nortons line...Randy Savage has a goofy part too
HOWEVER, this movie will not beat the Attack of the clones (monatarily wise). I know it hasnt been out yet, but I have a feeling that the storyline to that is going to be phenomenal and the fight scenes beyond anything we have ever seen before

first let me say that l liked the
movie. the second best comic
adaptation(behind superman l
and tight before batman l)
but i had 3 problems with the
movie.
1:green goblin was an iron man
like armor? bullshit
2:the gwen stacy like-plot at the
bridge(spidey fans will know
what i'm talking about)
3:why do they keep killing off
these great villians in each
movie?

to answer furie..... I agree about the gwen stacy angle. it shouldnt have been used unless it was going to be used in the right context. i definitely agree with the costume of the goblin ( a green goblin without the purple hat is not a green goblin) BUT... in the comic after the first realy intense battle between the goblin and spidey he does supposedly die....in which harry vows to avenge his death. and ill add more to this spoiler tommorow.

i liked it. i'm not into comic books and i was glad that it was done in a more main stream fashion. i thought tobey was great. willem was great. kirsten as mj was a good match for peter parker. great rainy scene. love the high beams. the CGI effects are still imperfect, alot like blade 2. definately recommend it. gotta love gettin' back at the bullies.

I just got back from seeing spiderman. It kicked major ass. im not even gonna bother with star wars since it is impossible for anything to kick as much ass as spiderman.
I was the only person to crack up laughing when Norton aid his line. I guess no one listens to O&A.
The green goblins metal costume i didnt like. And the only lame line i heard in the film was when MJ said "who are you" and he said "you know who i am" and she said "i do" and then he said "I'm just your neighborhood spiderman".
Other than that the movie kicked major ass.
HEY CHEEZEEMEE i saw previews for that 8 legged freaks movie. hahaha. i gotta see that.

i saw it....loved it....and gonna see it again.
Did you hear the "Dr. Conners" reference in the movie...referring to Dr. Curt Conners...The Lizard...who is rumored to the villian in the next one...with a Doc Octopus cameo!
Didnt see the Hulk Teaser though...=(

Thouroghly enjoyed it. And yes I did pick up on the Dr Connors line. Although I didn't know The Lizard was rumoured to be the villian in the next one, so that kicks even more ass.

Well if the lizard is the next villan than my guess was way off. i say you bring harry in as either the next green goblin or you use Doc Oc. i think that the lizard would be cool but i harry's green goblin was always my favorite spidey villian and doc oc is just a hardcore kick ass character and i definitely think we need to bring him into the film.

Spider-man was great! Norton ruled, Macho Man kicked ass, funny moments, great action and storyline and Kirsten looked hot.
The Hulk teaser was cool also.
'Spider-Man' Sets $114 Million Record at Box Office
Sun May 5, 1:16 PM ET
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Spider-Man," a highly anticipated comic-book hero saga, kicked off the lucrative summer movie season in North America with a record three-day gross of $114 million, according to studio estimates issued on Sunday.
The film, released by Columbia Pictures, smashed the old three-day record of $90.3 million, set last November by "Harry Potter (news - web sites) and the Sorcerer's Stone."
"Spider-Man" also broke the boy wizard's benchmarks for highest single-day receipts, said Jeff Blake, Columbia's president of worldwide marketing and distribution.
The film revolves around a high-school geek, played by Tobey Maguire, who is bitten by a spider and is soon able to scale walls and shoot webs from his wrist. Kirsten Dunst co-stars as his love interest, and Willem Dafoe as the villainous Green Goblin. Sam Raimi directed the film, which was reportedly budgeted between $120 million and $130 million.
The audience was evenly split between males and females, and between viewers aged over and under 25, Blake said.
The "Spider-Man" gross of $43.7 million on Saturday broke the "Harry Potter" single day record of $33.5 million, and the new film reached $100 million in three days, while "Harry Potter" took five days.

I just saw Spider Man and it was grrrrreat! CGI was fine. So he looked cartoony so what!? I was told the Twin Towers were in the movie but I didnt see them. Tobey did a fine job and Willem was one of the big screen's better villains! Unlike Superman or Batman in this movie we get to see how Peter becomes Spiderman and how he designs his costume. The first costume was cracking me up! He must have gotten it at K-Mart! Then there was a costume with batwings! Macho Man was great as Bonesaw! Yes! Bruce Campbell was in the movie! He's the ring announcer. There was a part when Peter is getting up from the floor and if you look closely at the closet door behind him there's seems to be a poster of a superhero but I can't make it out. I can't believe how many trailers this movie had!! The HULK teaser looked great instantly creatingly buzz in the theatre. I felt the guy who played the part of Jameson looked like Greg Brady but he was good. The part where Unlce Ben died should have been longer but hey! What do I know. I felt the reason they killed the Goblin was because he knew what Spidey looked like. The part of Harry Osbourne was well played. I realy liked this movie and I'm looking forward to the next Spiderman movie!!! Till then I'll check out SWE2! <P>

PanterA and I just got back from seeing it. Unlike him, I have never been a fan of comic books, but we both loved it. The special effects were phenomenal. There were also a couple of hilarious parts, like when he's atop a building, testing out his web-shooting for the first time. "Up up and a-web!, Web fly!" and when he smashed into the side of the building. Yes, we, too, were the only people laughing at Norton's line. I've loved Kirsten Dunst since Interview with the Vampire... she was great. If you don't see it, you're nuts. The Hulk movie looks pretty good, although the teaser was kinda disappointing since we didn't actually get to see him transformed.

I hope I'm not the only one that didn't like this movie all that much.
As far as Superhero fair goes, this is one of the better ones...the original Batman reigning supreme (I just don't understand the love affair with Superman...give me the normal guy superhero anyday), but it was by no means a great movie.
Incredibly cheesy moments reigned supreme, from the "If you mess wif one of us, you mess wif all of us!" line and the American flags peppered throughout (if you need to be told we're a unified nation by the Spiderman movie, I hope you die while masturbating) to the poorly filmed fight scenes between Spidey and Green Goblin (just think about it, were you more wowed by Spiderman fighting randomly or Spiderman fighting the green robothing? There's a part when they're near the recently blown up balcony where the camera stays on the two actors as they shuffle back and forth, like someone would in a real fight, the kind that's just too awkward to actually film)
How come no one questioned the use of webbing during wrestling? I guess everyone's got a gimmick.
But, a movie's a movie, and I was less angered by this one grossing as much as it did than I was the shitty XMen movie or either of the Blade movies.
