Being single has the element of freedom to do what you want, when you want. The downside is being a "third wheel" and a shortage of sex...
ryan youre a cutie, youre just too young.. and too far....:)
i miss cuddling more than anything...

There are worse things than not being in a "relationship"...like being in the WRONG relationship. Go out, have fun for as long as u can. Pretty soon "the one" will tie u down forever and...ever..and..you'll..be...happy.

"tie you down forever"
I got the rope. Now all I need is the girl.
I've been in one too many serious relationships, but I still would rather be in one. I've learned enough at this point that all I'd like is to have fun with someone and not worry about relationship status, or stupid lover spat problems. Just growing together naturally and let life and love take its course. Learning someone, that's the fun thing.
...and listen to Chris, with his post above me...there are wisdom in those words of his.

i agree with Chris and Sexy; it's not good to be in a relationship or want to be in a relationship just for security and/or so you're not alone. having a boyfriend isn't going to make your life better, especially if you're with him because youre too insecure to be alone. you need to be comfortable and happy with yourself, first.

sick thing is, even if you're "with" someone, there's no security. They could leave you tomorrow, and/or they could be cheating on you today. Divorce, adultery, mental & physical cruelty. There's no real love in the world, it's all a lie. Relationships suck, and it's unnatural for people to tie themselves to one person. People should just do what they want, because that's what everyone else is going to do anyway.....

either or, its all golden. you just have to love what you got at the time, and not worry about what you don't.

Ugh, I hate being single. Though it's true that it's worse to be in a bad relationship than no relationship.
But see, they're not all bad. Some are quite good. REALLY good. Like what just ended for me.
Bah.
In every relationship, you take a chance. Of course you want it to work out for the long haul (well, some people don't, but those people have no business in this mushy thread).... but sometimes it doesn't happen that way.
Hell, just read my sig. (Prize - to be named later - to whoever knows the band.)

or is it better to have someone and have that security....
If security is the reason, then that's not a good relationship. So stop underselling yourselves, screw what others think, be honest, be yourselves, and conquer damnit!

inky, first here's a long distance hug coming from Virginia...

Second I think life is better shared with the right person. Of course I've been married to the right person for 12 years now so that's easy for me to say BUT the sage advice already given re. being with someone for 'security' is, IMO, right on. If a relationship takes away more then it adds to your life then it's probably not a good thing.
