Shannon Hoon is another example of a great poet who was taken too soon. Kurt cobain, the guy from sublime, biggie smalls, layne staley. some of these guys brought it on themselves and shannon hoon defintely did.

seeing how erinmoran loves blind melon (cough)
i was just wondering if there were any other fans out there? the other guys mentioned left a pretty big impact on the world, but shannon is only a footnote in the world of music, when i think he was absolutely amazing. if you only know of No Rain you're missing out a great rock band.

to suggest a few songs:
change, galaxie, mouthful of cavaties, 2 x4, tones of home. if you don't like these you won't like blind melon. great jamming riffs, awesome vocals and awesome lyrics, great changes, just really good stuff.

Blind Melon

arguably the greatest band of the 90's

one of the only bands whose albums you can listen to beginning to end without wanting to skip a track

unfortunately they were severly underated and were never truly recognized for there amazing talent.

There is nothing more exhilerating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

Fatty... YOU ARE THE SHIT!!! we love the same poets... I would like to share my fav Shannon Hoon poem/song from the album nico

All that I need

All that I need is the air that I breathe And all that I need are things I don't need And all that really matters is what matters to me And who of you are like me

If I was to smile and I held out my hand If I opened it now would you not understand Because you know if I'm to benefit I'll do everything that I can And who of you are like me

It will make you feel good, over my shoulder It'll get me down and got me tied up 'Till I grow older, but feel me inside of you Like you want it to

But is it just the pains in your head That are thrilling me Another life's falling down onto it's knees But I'll never smile the way, that I did like that day

Everything will be Okay Everything will be Okay It'll be Okay.
