OK I JUST got this game, HEY I only had PS2 for 2 months now. But anyway I have a few questions.
1) Is there anyway to win the Blitzball championship or is it set up that you will always lose?
2) Is there anyway to defeat the first summoner challange or is that also set up that everyone loses?
3) Again, is there anyway to defeat the chocobo eating monster or does he knock everyone off of the cliff?
PLEASE dont spoil any further story lines, i'm only up to the falling off the cliff part.

PanterA answers
1) The first time when you play your first game, if I can remember you always lose. But you can play blitzball later in the game and win lots of games.
2) Don't know which battle you talking about.
3) He always knocks you off.

no no no, i bought the strategy guide. i know these things.
1.) yes it is possible to win the blitzball championship, but it is very hard. it took me hours to win.
2.) yes there is a way to defeat belgemine the summoner. valefore must be in overdrive. strike ifrit with energy ray, and please take note of ifrit's attack pattern. it preforms a regular attack then meteor shower. before the meteor showers, gaurd by using valefor's sheild. that will deflect some of the damage. ifirit is immune to the sonic wings, so use blizzard.
3.) yes you can beat the chocobo eater. start with lulu in your party, and cast haste on her. keep casting spells and use wakka's dark attack to blind it. you can use auron's power break to reduce damage. if you can mannage to knock it over on its back, you'll do a lot more damage. and use yuna's grand summoning when it is on its back and it will do a lot more damage.

Lulu, I already beat FFX but does the stradgy guide have lots of extras and side stuff? I usually get the stradgy guide but never got around to it.

i have heard some rumors that there is an extra character. but other than that i don't know. but i'm sure there are some other extra things, but i don't want to ruin anything for anyone.

Hey JustJon isn't that FF7 when Aeris gets stabbed by Sephiroth? Oh and yeah FFX is an incredible game...I hope you like it...And at first I thought Blitzball was rigged to.........

yeah sephiroth stabbs aeries in FF7, and I got up to the blitzball part (second time playing the game) and I won. All you have to do is keep it tied until wakka comes and plays because he has a special shot. I won 1-0

FFX was a fantastic game, although it still doesn't live up to FFVII as being the best in the series, imo.
In FFX International, the extra epilogue hints at a possible "new adventure"...I really hope there is a sequal, FFX deserves it.
GtarBoy: Cloud isn't a clone.
(Note: This is a pet peeve of mine, a lot of people have this misconception about FFVII's story. I can explain why in immense detail, but please, just take my word for it.)

Okay...let me collect my thoughts...
Um, Cloud was never a clone, but was made to believe he was. When he was injured at the Nibleheim Reactor he was taken to Hojo's little lab (under the ShinRA mansion) with Zack and given Jenova cells in order to recover. So, all those times he believe he was being "called" to the Northern Crater like all of the other Sepihroth clones (the guys in black clones with the tattoos) it was the Jenova in him that was. Cloud was just some guy who wanted to make it big in the military (like his hero, Sepihroth), but he just couldn't make SOLDIER. He was in a squad with Zack (the real SOLDIER) and Zack always told him about his missions, so after everything that happened at the Nibleheim Reactor, (Cloud was still a little out of it because of the Jenova cells, Zack wasn't because all members of Solider are given Jenova cells as a prerequisit, hence the green eyes) on their way to Midgar, they're attacked and Zack was killed...Cloud takes Zacks sword...meets up with Tifa...and AVALANCH...He is still in denail about being a midocure solider, and not a top brass guy (he was ashamed to meet Tifa when he was in Nibleheim). So he keeps lying to everyone about his escapades (which really happened to Zack), and pretty soon (with the help of the Jenova cells) he begins to believe these things are true. It's only later until he doubts who he is and he discovers the truth.
Ok, I know I'm missing something, but I haven't played in quite some time. I have to play through it again, but I have enough times to say I know what I'm talking about.

Yes, just get the Jecht shot and you should win. As you play, blitzball gets reeeeeally easy.

I just started to play FFX, my old PS2 was damaged. Just got a new one. It's a good game, but I do like FFVII better.
One question, Is this the same world as FFVII & FF Tactics?

Ahhh! Lulu, sorry about all the spoilers! WOW I can't believe you have played FFX and never played FFVII (best in the whole freekin series). I too also slightly spoiled myself by reading the stradgy guide but its not nearly alot. Where are you in the game now? I started playing it a week ago (for like the 30th time) I am up to Costa del Sol.
