angel fans - the angel/simpsons connection?

ok, so i was watching angel tonight (which was excellent, as ever), and i noticed something weird... did the whole gunn sold his soul but now gives it to a girl thing remind anyone else of that forbidden donut episode of the simpsons? i coudlnt get that thought out of my head, and it sort of tainted the episode for me. it was cute in the simpsons, but seems a little silly for angel. thoughts?
