Here are my picks:
1. Star Wars Ep. II
Episode 1 What?
Forget Ep. I it was just a prelude for a violent, Jedi battling, starfighter flying, disgusting creature major hit!
2. Spider Man
Sam Rami can't go wrong and Tobey Maguire is the perfect spidey.
3. The Scorpion King
Yeah, wrestlers are dumb, but when it comes to violence, they're the best at it.
4. Minority Report.
Stupid name (but not as dumb as Attack of The Clones).
Tom Cruise has made up for that "action for no reason" piece of garbage M:I 2. I'm sad that Thandie Newton wasn't cast in Minority report, though.
5. MIB II.
Does it come out this year? Anyway, I think it will be good. Aliens, big guns and some comedy thrown in. And Will Smith is BOX OFFICE GOLD.

I also have to add Scooby doo as the number 6. It just looks very colorful and fun. If you smoke weed, it will be the best movie you've ever seen.

Hello you forgot 2 little movies coming out at the end of the year. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
Harry Potter made almost a billion dollars globally and over 300 million in the states. Lord of the Rings made over 200 million and over 600 million globally.
1. Star Wars Attack of the Clones
2. Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets
3. Lord of the Rings 2 The 2 towers.
4. SpiderMan
5 MIB 2 or Goldmember.
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

I'll cautiously add Red Dragon, the prequal to Silence of the Lambs, (and easily the best of the three books). The cast Looks great: Hopkins, Ed Norton, Harvey Keitel, Ralph Fiennes, Phillip Seymour Hoffman... These are all serious actors, which was what made Silence so much better than Hanibal. Only 2 questions: Who is the director? He's done Rush Hour 1 and 2. That's pretty much it. The other question is: will it be out this year?
I say it's gonna be Red Dragon itself to the Osca!!! Gi! Gi! Gi!...

well veg, i'm going to (very bravely) go against your status and agree with you about minority report. i however don't think it's a stupid title, it is based on a short story by philip k. dick, the same man who brought us the classics blade runner and total recall. i am really looking foward to that flick

Have you ever heard of an old movie called Attack of the 50 foot woman? That's why I think attack of the clones sounds stupid.
And I loved Blade Runner, but if it was called Attack of Harrison Ford, probably no one would have wanted to see it.

What is "best", hype? How can you say Matrix 2, Attack of the Clones, Men in Black 2 etc. are the best blockbusters of 2002? They aren't even been released yet. Who didn't hear "Planet Of The Apes will be the best ever, man!" a thousand fucking times. Don't get bamboozled by the Hollywood marketing machine.

Well, then I guess we should all just stay home and not at least try to see any movie based on what the buzz is about it. Let's all read books!

There is nothing more exhilerating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

Yeah! More books, definitely. But I'm as guilty as the next drone. When Movie Guy says, "Opens everywhere!", we trot like sheep.
All it takes to please me is an original story & some decent acting. The problem is that with 9 out of 10 movies those two elements have been replaced in Hollywood by special f/x and a "saturation bombing" marketing plan.
Blockbuster Uber Alles.

Now that's one movie that I think will SUCK.
I'm sorry, I've heard that Vin "The Man of Unknown Ethnicity" Diesel is an excellent actor, but ESPN-meets-James-Bond-with-an-alternative-soundtrack isn't working for me.
I do love the scene where all the waepons are laid out and Diesel says "I want all of this- in here." Other than that, I'll wait for the video.
