This saturday night my pledge brothers and I are thorwing a party and our theme is my fraternity's decades. I have been assigned to the 80's and I need help with ideas.
I have to decorate an 80's room, wear an 80's outfit. and make some sort of cheap 80's alcoholic drink. Since some of you lived throught the 80's I need your help, any ideas as to what I should decorate with, wear, and/or serve as a drink?

you need some Guns and Roses, montley crew, and Poison posters, a few Samantha Fox and, Madonna posters. Have a Rubic Cube somewhere. Wear all black with a shiney tie and a shirt with big shoulder pads. Also spiked hair.
About drinks....well wine coolers were big back then and also bud light with spuds mckenzy

Wine coolers were my original idea, but we have no money, so we need to do a cheap drink. Thanks to everyone so far, keep the ideas comming.

Missy, sex on the beach is already taken, but a Long Island Iced Tea is an excellent idea, I might use that, thank you very much.
And no fatty I am not a brother yet, but very soon, I guess I just got carried away....haha.

In the 80s we used to drink grain alcohol and fruit punch and parties.

Gvac's right...don't forget Billy Idol, Flock of Seagulls, spikes-dog collars, DEVO...I'm tired. Where's my Geritol? I just remembered the worst part - Parachute pants with white capezios! lol regular redneck country club...how many food stamps take to join? Hahahahaha!

I say as far as your outfit, I ould go with the Hulk Hogan look. With the WWF re-issuing the Hulkimania t-shirt it would be pretty easy. If your really commited you could shave your head to the exact siz of his bald spot at that time.

Any sort of jacket w/ the sleeves rolled up ala Don Johnson and Michael Jackson. Rat Tails, spiked hair and shaving initials into your head were big. Consult the guru and rent John Hughes' movies.

What you can do is get some cheap wine and mix it with seltzer. gives it the sparkle and still the wine is there.
don't forget the 80's were the decade of excess. You could dress like Miami Vice and Studio 54

Thank you to everyone who has responded thus far, you all have amazing ideas.
There are still two days left however and I need some more ideas on how to decorate a room. The drink will in fact be liquid cocaine, but now I need room ideas.

Anything florescent is very 80's. Also, you could have rubics cubes and a magic 8 Ball in the room, those were very popular...i can't think of much else
