I don't think you should do more than flowers for the second date. Save the expensive stuffed animals for either a holiday or a birthday. It might put her off a little. Put the gift money aside and surprise her with a favorite CD or a DVD, something like that. That tells her that you heard that obscure little hint -- (it proves you listen!).
A whole bunch of bunchies!

JaneBigHair.... im with you on that one i learned that its a good thing when you listen to every word that a female says.I say it depends on the girls mind set if shes a material person or just someone that appreciates getting something simply. <P>

huh? did a woman say something?
SOL, don't worry about buying expensive things early on. She may think something's up or that you're trying to buy her affection.

isnt that what you try and do with me, Pookie Pie?
Sol, a little teddy bear or something is cute. you dont want to come on too strong or scare her off.

seriously, i think you should worry more about what you do on the date than what you buy. actions speak louder than gifts. stick with flowers or little bears or something and use the saved money to take her someplace she's never been before on a date

Sol buddy... did you even ask her out yet.. i know you have been talking about this girl for a couple of weeks now.. First wait and see how the first date goes... if all goes well and you get the second date then maybe buy a flower or something.. try to find out what her favorite flower is bring it for the second or third date.. this shows that you listened to her and dig her.. you don't want to get something too big cause it might scare her away... just take things slow and see how that important first date goes.. hope all goes well for you....

i would say for a first date i would recommend this
a pink or white rose and a stuffed teddy bear...dont want to go over board with a dozen roses on the first date, since its the first date i liketo keep it simple dont want to make it look like i am trying to impress her...do something from your heart that is the most important

Flowers first date.
Stuffed animal for the second.
Stay away from candy, because that might bring in the whole "are you tring to make me fat" thing. and if you say no, then it's the "So, i'm too thin??"
save jewelery for the little aniversaries, like one month, two months, six month etc...

I think a big stuffed animal is a
little ridiculous, personally, and a
little impersonal, as well. It
shows you thought about her but
not of her as a person just as a
chick in general, unless it's
something more specific to her,
eg my bf has a yellow lab, loves
olives, and was telling me all the
time he needed to 'focus more'
so I went to the teddy bear
factory place and made him a
stuffed lab named olive that had
glasses to help her focus... know
what I'm syaing?
