I saw Jonathan Winters on the Ed Sullivan Show and he killed. Same when I saw Red Buttons and his lame one liners. I used them in school the next day and I was a hit.

I saw Bill Cosby's Himself in the early 80's. And even today it doesn't get much better.

i never really found stand up comedians funny at all, and i still don't, generally. but the first time i ever saw (not in person) steven wright he just kicked ass. it gave me hope that comedians could actually be funny

Gotta go with Bil Cosby himself. Hysterical. Then when I got a little older I found Richard Pryor and George Carlin, it gets no funnier then that.

I think it it was Eddie murphy on hbo with the aunt bunnie fell down the stairs bit. Or it might have george carlin on hbo, with the i want to get into the plane not on on the plane.
I had his class clown ablum and the live at the carnegie. As well as the cheech and chong ablums as well way back in the late 70's
God help me if I have to listen to Joe Poo bungle up another live spot

George Carlin, somewhere around late 70's early 80's. Whatever year it was that he did an HBO special where he had on a blue turtleneck shirt.

I urge everyone to check out Lenny Bruce. There are many CD's available, the man was way before his time. A true legend.

The first stand up comedian that made me laugh was George Carlin. My brothers got " On the Road" great album I used to memorize that shit. Cheech and Chong, Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, and Flip Wilson were all great.
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.
