i start my college radio show today and im still lost on what the fuck im going to do

if you were listening to a college radio station what songs would you want to listen to, ill take your suggestions and put them on a CD

they cant have curses in em though

I would like to listen to some rock with some r&b to the mix. You gotta have the X-ecutioners with Linkin Park - It's Going Down! Don't think it has expletives but I could be wrong. How about Darren Hayes of Savage Garden's "Insatiable." Man that brings a tear to my eye.

Also Creed, Usher and POD aren't bad cuz you can't use music with curses on college based radio stations.

What allocated time is your radio show on? Morning, middays, latenight?

Amy..go obscure..no main stream crap..If people wanted to hear U2 or Limp Bizkit they could turn on Z100...give people a reason to listen to you and to remember you...Try some old school punk or hardcore, and some ska....Be different....Personally, I think WSOU(Seton Hall) and 88.9(Monmouth College) play the best music because its shit you won't hear anywhere else....

hardcore is the way to draw an audience in college radio. there is plenty of shows to promote if you pay attention, and they'll even give you tickets(and other crap)if you reach out and ask them.

You should play what everyone wants. I dont know the demographics of your school but at SJU Hip hop and rap have a strong liking here. Although you should stir things up and hit them with obscure shit, like older songs.
