I didnt talk to Heckler about this game yet but I think it would be fun and i'm sure he would love to play along.

Here are the rules,

Ask Heckler an Entertainment / Old school trivia question.

NOBODY CAN REPLY UNTIL HECKLER ANSWERS THE QUESTION OR ADMITS NOT KNOWING THE ANSWER.

YOU CAN REPLY IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION POSTED. THEN YOU POST A QUESTION OF YOUR OWN.

You dont get anything more then respect if you "Stump Heckler" but it's going to be tough.

I'll Start:

The first feature length cartoon with sound and color was?

What was the name of the dog on the popular 1960's sitcom "Please Don't Eat The Daisies"? And for bonus points, the names of the twin sons on that show (the character names).

Okay, here goes:
Led Zep name: I think it was coined by Keith Moon(or was it Entwistle?)
Yardbirds First Guitarist: Clapton gets the credit, but I think there was another guy..his name escapes me, he was never famous.
Please Don't Eat The Daisies: James, we talked about this a while back. The dog was Ladydog and the twins were Tracy and Trevor, I think.
Happy Days: A spin off from a segment of Love American Style. I can still see the fireworks and hear the theme song..Friday nights on ABC! :)

I believe the short was called "And these happy days" Ron Howard, Marion Ross and possibly Anson Williams were in the sketch.

The 3 yardbird guitarists (of any status)Clapton 1st, Beck 2nd, Page 3rd.

Ok Heckler I do not know the answer but I know you will. When we were kids there used to be this pizza pocket things that we would put in the toaster. Late 60's early 70's. What were they called?

The Cheech and Chong thing was Sister Mary Elephant, I had the record!
The blonde prick in those films..I have no clue.
James: Gerald Ford's Veep was Nelsn Rockefeller, his running mate was Bob Dole.
Screw him and those WIN buttons.
Jafter: Toaster Pizza by Buitoni? They made so much crap in those days, but we still loved it. :)

Sorry I'm late getting back on this topic--I was out of town for the weekend.

The answer to the "original Yardbirds guitarist" was Anthony "Top" Topham. Clapton replaced him.

Chris Dreja was the rhythm guitarist but switched to bass for the Beck/Page then Page eras. Original bassist Paul Samwell-Smith quit just before Page joined in 1966.

I'm late in responding, but it's been a busy weekend. Plus I think I may have F**ked up my Question? It may have been High Sierra and Casablanca, not the Maltese Falcon. Either way it wasn't Reagan, great guess though. It was George Raft, whose career went nowhere after turning down those roles untill the late Billy Wilder ressurected him As the Spats wearing gangster in Some Like It Hot.

Okay, Heck...According to these rules now I get to tell you about the most famous, overplayed party song EVER...

:)
The Kingsmen recorded "Louie, Louie," in 1963. They chose this ditty to get more jobs on a cruise ship.
It is a song about a Jamaican sailor pining for his woman... ( Jersey Rich? Watching over the Reef?)

***The cruise bookers thought the song was garbage, difficult to understand, and refused to let them sing it. However, within five months, "Louie, Louie," hit No. 2 on the music charts.

***Part of the song's enduring appeal is sheer mystery. The lead singer (Jack Ely ) swears he remembered the lyrics, but had to scream them into a lousy microphone suspended 12 feet above his head in a small, shitty studio.
Ely claims it was impossible to sing with perfect diction with your head straight back. (insert joke here..)

***Nonetheless, the garbled recording created a belief that the lyrics were obscene when played at a slow speed. In 1964, a few FBI agents even visited the singer's home.

Conspiracy Theorists, GET YOUR TOGAS ON!! ( Paging Oliver Stone...)

CHORUS: Louie, Louie, Oh-oh-I say me gotta go.
Louie, Louie, me gotta go now.
FIRST VERSE: Fine little girl she waits for me.
Me catch the ship across the sea.
I never think I'll make it home.

But how would you know that? Nice guess with the Southern Comfort though. I had one experience with that stuff on a New Year's Eve long past. I was binging on Southern Comfort and Cheese Doodles. When it all came up it looked like day-glo orange radioactive waste.

Ok Heckler this is what I want to know, I dont know the answer and I was hoping you would.
Why was half of the movie wizard of Oz filmed in B&M in the first half, then the second half in color. Was it done on purpose? Becuase it would make sence, Or did it so happen that while filming color film was invented and they decided that when dorothy landed In OZ they would colorize it to greater the effect of a new and excting place?

AG, from what I understand the film was shot in black and white and technicolor to contrast the dreary "normal" life and the fantasy dream world of Oz.
I also know that Buddy Ebsen was originally cast as the Tinman, but had to back out after a skin allergy to silver paint.

The first TV show to be broadcast in color was "The Ed Sullivan Show", locally on channel 2 in NYC, I think it was 1951. "Bonanza" was the first color western, around 1959-60, on NBC.
As for the "Chloe" question, I have no idea. This thread should have stayed in "Old School". I'm old, remember? :)

In vino veritas

<marquee>There's a place in the world for the angry young man With his working class ties and his radical plansHe refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,He's always at home with his back to the wall. And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,And he struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross-And he likes to be knowns as the angry young man. </marquee>

Heckler for the longest time Ive wondered What Movie was the song "Sweet Caroline" from? The one where there all gathered around singing it and where everybody got the "BUM BUM BUM" thingy from

AG, that song has made a comeback in some recent movie that I refuse to recognize. Back in the day if you played "Sweet Caroline" or any other Neil Diamond song you got a beating. That's the trend now in film, ever since the "Top Gun" pilots sang "You Lost That Lovin' Feeling", or maybe the bar scene in "The Deer Hunter", where they sang Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You". UGH. Sorry, had to vent. :)

You're going down: <P>
1) Damu {blank} starred in this 1970's spoof of a popular mafia film. Give Damu's full name, the name of the movie he was in and the name of the movie that was being spoofed. <P>
2) Which QVC host starred in a Sam Raimi film? Name the host and the movie. <P>
3) What was the name of the movie that featured a mute African-American as the main character? <P>

Damu King starred in "The Black Godfather". How do I remember this? A friend collects "Blaxploitation" movies and I remember seeing it. I think King did a few other low budget black films.
The Black Deaf Mute Lead? Hmm..was it that awful Paul Hogan western with Cuba Gooding Jr?
The QVC guy in a Sam Raimi movie? No clue. Could it be that blonde guy in "Evil Dead II?
BTW, I never claimed to be an expert of trivia. I just remember stuff, that's all.
Thank you, please drive up to the window.

I own Black Godfather on DVD, what a bad movie. The movie about the mute guy was "The Brother From Another Planet," I bought it from Sam Goody. That movie is pretty bad, too. For some reason, I'm a sucker for bad movies.

I didn't actually think it was released in theaters. You wanna hear something funny? I saw a VHS copy of the movie on eBay and the rental sticker on it read,

My friend, some topical trivia. What was the name of Baretta's (Robert Blake) pet bird and what was its breed?

As for the first couple in bed, it has been said that the correct answer is "The Brady Bunch" or "The Flintstones", which is incorrect. There was a program on the old Dumont Network about a married couple that actually had the couple share a bed. The name escapes me, but I recently read about this question. Was it "Mary and John"? Something like that.
