From his Oscar winning performance in "Marty" to "Commander Quentin McHale" in "McHales Navy", the man is a show business legend. I salute you, Ernest Borgnine, and I even forgive your role on "The Single Guy". Cheers!

Ernest Borgnine: from my hometown of Hamden, CT!

Oh yeah, and so was Eli Whitney (inventor of the Cotton Gin).

Borgnine was awesome as Roggo in "The Poseidon Adventure".

He had a great appearance on The Simpsons during a father/son whitewater rafting trip.

That Simpsons was fucking hilarious. I can still remember him and the kids being stalked by Jason.

Ernest Borgnine was in one of the great ensemble casts of all time, in the legendary Wild Bunch. Borgnine, William Holden, Robert Ryan, Warren Oates, Edmond O' Brien, and Ben Johnson. Now that's Machismo!

Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

Wasn't he in "Willard" the rat movie? I remember him being eaten by rats.

I liked him as the menacing heavy in 'Bad Day at Black Rock'.

Good one, Heckler!

He peaked as Cabbie in Escape From NY, but went down the toilet in Spike of Bensonhurst.

I remember walking out of that movie. Ernie just needed a payday.

I think his greatest achievement was sweaty pedophile storyteller uncle and second banana to a toy monkey in <A HREF=http://us.imdb.com/Title?0174917>"Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders"</A>
