Back in the late 70's with all that corporate rock, the music scene was ripe for a change. That was punk.
Now here we are and the charts are again filled with corporate rock boybands and the such.

My question is; what do you think the next trend in music will be? Punk? Metal? Alternative?

In vino veritas

There's a place in the world for the angry young man With his working class ties and his radical plansHe refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,He's always at home with his back to the wall. And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,And he struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross-And he likes to be knowns as the angry young man.

Pop music that dominated the late 90's is on the way out. NSYNC's latest album, Celebrity, is far more aggressive than any boy band album. I think that NSYNC will progress towards harder, more aggressive music, and dominate the airwaves for another 5 years, ala The Beatles.
When the Beatles came out in 1964, they were a boy band. Through the years, as the 60's grew into the 60's with acid, they changed their style. Their fan base grew, and the developed a raw, unheard of sound. I see NSYNC following the same path.

Before you go calling me psycho, I'm an NSYNC fan.

Remember Hanson? Well.. they're actually talented musicians and they put out a live cover album that really wasn't that bad. I'm waiting for them to get into drugs and become the next great rock band.

I'll kill myself if that happens.

I'm beginning to wonder if this horrible travesty that is the injection of rap / hip hop into rock will ever end. Keep the metal pure, thank ye.

I think Slipknot and Mudvayne would be great for the next trend. Propellerheads and Crystal Method are also cool and what about that hamster dance song? Just kidding

I'm real high on Pete Yorn right now, but I don't think he alone will spark a big revolution and get people interested in alt country...or new folk rock, or whatever it is his music is defined as.....

I'm starting to get into a bit more trip-hop. Sneaker Pimps finally have some new music coming out which sounds pretty good. I still miss Kelli though.

emo makes me want to scrape the eggs out of my ovaries with a plastic spoon so that i wont bring anything into this pussy ass world.

Can I watch you do that? ;)
