Congrats to two of the greatest groups to come out of NYC for being inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! I am a diehard fan of both groups, I have followed them since the beginning.
Rest in peace Joey.

Amen to that, brother. When you think about how popular disco and pop was in 1977, it's amazing that bands that sounded like the Ramones and Talking Heads even got off the ground. They were true innovators, and to this day no one sounds even remotely like either of them.

This made me so happy, although bittersweet with Joey's death last year. Say what you will about the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, but at least they honor the true greats, as opposed to the Grammys, which never gave a thought to a band like the Ramones.

I feel very lucky that I was able to hang with the Ramones in 1995. They had played the Malibu Beach Club in Lido Beach on LI, and I had a friend who worked as a roadie for the club. He got me back, and I was able to meet all the boys, Joey included. All I could think about was how amazing that this godfather of punk rock was standing <tall> in front of me.

RIP, Joey, we miss you.

Back in 1976, I won a radio contest for tickets to a show in Central Park to see this new band called "Talking Heads". I didn't go because I wasn't that familiar with them and going to Central Park was still a bit daunting for a Long Island kid of 13.

I was an idiot.

I'm looking down your blouse right now and you don't even know it.

I remember my brother bringing Rockets to Russia home from college back in 77 or 78 and I was hooked. I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I am so glad that I finally got to see them live back in the early 80's down here in DC at the Wax Museum. Great show!!!!!!!!

Next year the Clash and Pistols will be put in.

We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

It looks like they cut Eddie Vedders 15 min speach to about a minute on the Hall of Fame show on VH1. Green Day did a good job of representing the Ramones. The Talking Heads were also very good.

We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

Watching those guys during their acceptance speeches made me get up and look in the mirror.

I just got a copy of the new Ramones tribute album. It sucks. Hearing Bono singing "Beat On The Brat" is awful, hearing Metallica singing about being a male prostitute in "53rd and 3rd" is laughable. I bet Lars loves young tricks.
Stay away from this mess.

Thanks for the review.I've already got four Ramones "Greatest Hits" records.

Stick with the re-mastered originals, they also come with some interesting cuts such as live club recordings, demos, and even a promo by Joey hawking End of the Century.I laugh every time I hear it.I miss them.

Romones get what they deserve and are now officaly etched in history.....i have just started to listen to old bands that started new movements to see how they changed the music we listen to now and talking heads are on the top of that list they made very smart music and i am realy enjoying them there is a few other bands i would love to see make it in to the hall of fame such as the misfits, bad brains, and a hole bucnch of others that have started or changed the music that we listen to today

Sorry no Rockets to Russia or the first album.

Thank you Ron and Fez for finally being live in DC again.

Well, with all due respect Heckler,I went out and bought the Tribute Album anyway.

And now I'd like to review it by making these three points......

1) They could have easily replaced Bono with Richard Simmons.

2) On KISS singing "Do you remember Rock 'N Roll radio".....

...We need change and we need it fast,

before Rock's just part of the past.

'Cause lately it all sounds the same to me

*** HOW FUCKIN' IRONIC!***
3) Marilyn Manson gives me the willys....
but I like it.
