HHH pinned Jericho for the belt but the main story
was the Hogan vs Rock match up..... The fans were
100 percent behind Hogan. It was not even close.
There were even Rocky Sucks chants. Hogan even
hulked up. Lawler kept saying the fans were
behind Hogan and Jim Ross screwed up by saying
the fans were 50/50. Rock ended up pinning Hogan
and Hall and Nash attacked Hogan. Hogan turned
face. I say this card was great. All the matches
were great except the womens match....

Dave, are you drunk again?
That was the worst piece of shit I've seen in a LONG time.
Hell, the WWA is putting on better shit than what I just saw.
The ONLY good thing was that the Canadian fans, god bless them, were totally against Rocky.

Not a bad fight on the card.... maybe the Maven vs
Golddust because Maven missed quite a few
moves.... But it did not bug me and the comedy of
the Hardcore belt was HE-sterical. GREAT CARD!!!
Arn Andersons side slam was amazing......

Overall a good, not great card. They made a major blunder not making Rock/Hogan the main event. HHH/Jericho seemed minor compared to Rock/Hogan. A new "undisputed" champion pales to the passing of the torch and, what may be, the last hurrah of Hogan

This card was Underwhelming at best. HHH Jericho wasn't bad, just too short. Rock should've turned and went NWO if they were gonna turn hogan. The tag match was ass. The hardcore title stuff WAS funny as hell I have to admit. Overall a pretty shitty card.

You cannot be a wrestling fan if you didn't pop when Hogan hulked up!!! I hated Hogan from 2nd grade on, after Ordoroff turned on him!!! But tonight, the prodigal sons of Hulkamania returned and all was right with the world!!! 66,000 Hulkamaniacs out of the crowd of 67,000 and change were feeling the magic!!! Why do you watch wrestling if you couldn't love that moment? To each his own, but my word. And this was proof positive that HHH and Y2J blow monkeys, since the crowd WANTED to cheer tonight, but those 2 clods couldn't draw eskimos if they wrestled in a heated igloo. Fucking Flair lit it up too!!! Put the each strap o Hogan and Flair, and let the yellow and gold wrestle the man in the robes for each of those titles, and let every 20-34 year old wrestling fan live their dream.
WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN HULKAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU!!!

I enjoyed it. Hogan vs. Rock was definetly electric!!! Who'd a thought 68,000 people whould boo the People's champ in favor of Hogan, it was insane!
The WWF did a horrible job of putting the womens title match in between Hogan/Rock/ HHH/Y2J, it totally killed the crowd until The Game nailed Steph with the Pedigree.
I wish Jericho could have had a better Title reign. I expect Triple H to have the title for at least five months.
How f'n fine did Trish look? And Stacy, OH MY GOD STACY!!!
I even found the 24/7 Hardcore rule entertaining, classic move by Christian swinging the half-door to Molly's face, lol.
I was happy to see Billy and Chuck retain, all the other tag teams in the federation are played out and need to be repackaged.
Good to see DDP win at a PPV, WrestleMania even. This guy needs to be pushed.
R... V... D...! As much as I like Regal he just wasn't a good champ, maybe it's because mos fans hate his style of wrestling, but I like him. It's good to see RVD get that title, I'd like a nice long run, maybe not the lenth of his ECW TV Title reign, but long enough that it raises the title's worth.
I loved the finish to the Hall/Austin match, Hall standing after the first Stunner and getting another was great. I don't like how it made the nWo look with Austin basicly beating two men.
Taker vs. Flair was soooooo fucking boring, with exception to that spectacular german suplex of the top rope. Jesus Christ, Taker can't even get Flair up for the Last Ride!
Speaking of f'd up endings... Kane and Angle was good, they really should have scrapped the ending and have had Kane kick out, the wrestled for another minute and try something else, the end really looked bad.
I give this PPV a thumbs up, it really didn't seem like it was four hours long and that's a good thing.

I actually was able to buy the PPV and am glad I did. Definitely a good WM but not great. THe Hogan vs. Rock match was simply electrifying.
Gotta love the Canadian fans for booing the Rock and chanting Hogan.... hulking up, damn I was marking out like no end!
The other matches could have been better but the Hardcore Match was a nice running gag through the night but why did Maven have to get it last?!? Full circle I guess.
BTW: Arn's Spinebuster was amazing!

i thought it was pretty good. like i thought regal and rvd was a good match, christian ddp was a good match. the tag was alright. edge and booker t was pretty good. the hardcore bit was okay. i thought flair and undertaker put on an above average match with two men just going to battle. hogan rock totally lived up to its hype. and jericho hhh was pretty good. i just thought it was a lot of good solid wrestling without a lot of surprises. if there was a big twist it would have made the show a lot better but overall i enjoyed wrestlemania.

All the matches were great except the womens match....
I tuned in to make fun of the ridiculous plotlines, watch some guys fall through tables, and hopefully see some boobies. Nothing sadder than seeing a wrinkled, old slow Hogan. he used to be my hero when I was 12. He can't even get out of the ring anymore. And the ladies match was a cluster-F. No boobs, and they can't even fake being thrown into the ropes. They look like they are skipping off of the ropes. At least act convincingly! I still can't believe I stayed up to watch it.

I must not have watched the same show as you people, because what I saw was horrible. I went into the show with low expectations, and I was STILL disappointed.
Why wasn't Rock / Hogan the main event? Very simple.
FUCKING STEPHANIE.
See, Steph wasn't involved in that match, so it wasn't the main. Because it's a rule - the main event MUST feature a McMahon.
Please, please let the split happen soon, because maybe I'll get one decent wrestling show I can watch from it.

am i the only one who really loved the tag match? althought, the hardys should have won.
the hardcore match(s) were great. very funny.
there was no way hogan was going to win the match with the rock. it was a good match, but after when hogan extended his hand and it was shaking, he looked so old.
the hhh/y2j match was so long....... i almost fell asleep. but i did love it when hhh pedigreed steph.
all in all, i thought it was a good ppv.

I actually rewatched the entire PPV today and am officially changing my original opinion. This was one of the worst PPV I've ever seen.
RVD v Regal. Was a good Raw match, but expect more a a PPV particulatly Wrestlemania.
DDP v Christian. Decent match again, nothing special
Maven v Goldust should've been Maven v Al Snow. Match wasn't awful, and I'll admit I laughed at te followng backstage24/7 segments, but it wasn't anything that wouldn't have seen on smackdown.
Kane v Kurt Angel. Poor Kurt angel is all I have to say. He could drag Terry Gordy to a 4 star match tommorrow (and yes I know he's dead) but nothing was saving this match. Capped off by Kane blowing his half of a roll up.
Undertaker v Flair I don't expect Flair to go over, but for fucks sake take shrugs off multiple shots from a lead pipe, multiple shots from a steal chair, and Arn Anderson??!!?! Both of these men were to old for this match to be anything better then it was, which was shit.
Booker T v Edge. Raw match plain and simple.
Scott Hall vs Steve Austin Overbooked and pointless, and Hall simply doesn't have it anymore. Even as crippled as austin is at this point, he's still capable of a good match agains the right opponent, this wasn't it.
Tag Team Championship
Not that the guys didn't work hard, but this match had no flow and was just boring. The Dudleys, the Hardys, and the APA are all completely stale; and sice one of the memebers of billy and Chucky is Billy Gun, they by definition, must suck.
Hogan vs. The Rock. I don't care how hyped the crowd was, or how shocking it was to here them all cheer for Hogan, this match was just plain awful. Hogan is just to old, plain and simple. His 1988 offense is just not believable in 2002;and he is too old to even make it look like it is. My only hope is that the years of steroids abuse has the same effect on him that it had on Billy Graham and he breaks a hip.
Women title. No one cares about womens wrestling, so why is this match second from the top? Didn't even provide decent T&A.
HHH v Jericho. Not an awful match but it was too short, the psychology did not play into the finish at all, and I am completely tired of seeing HHH and his awesome "Use the knee" moveset.
PArticularly after puttin on what was arguably one of the best PPV ever last year with Wrestlemania 17, this show was a complete dissappointment on all accounts. And what was the point of pushing the NWO so hard if you were gonna have them all loose and one member leave one month later. The WWF is just getting lazy at this point, and I'm hoping after the split that there will be some internal competion between the two shows and things will get better. We will just have to wait and see.

Oh boy...I'm starting to see which guys here are real wrestling fans and which ones sorta noticed it pick up in '96....
Why wasn't Rock / Hogan the main event? Very simple.
Yes, very simple...
1-isn't that EXACTLY what all the fans have said they DIDN'T want to see? Hogan in another main event? And now you guys are bitching...
2-is it fair to guys like Jericho & triple H who have worked so hard to get where they are in the business suddenly get pushed down the card because the "mighty" Hogan comes back a month earlier?
3-Say what you will, but the Hogan/Rock match had feeling to it, but the match pretty much blew. 2 guys with 5 moves wrestling...oooh fun. As far as true action, HHH/Jericho beat the hell out of that match, and they earned it.
Also, no one should ever be bitching about the Women's match. I suppose you'd like Terri vs. Stacey, or some other chicks who have no talent catfighting. Jazz, Lita and Trish put on one of the better women's matches I've seen in ages, and they actually wrestled! Some of the moves looked actually well done! If you want tits, turn on Spice, you wankers.
And my match of the night: Undertaker vs. Flair. I'm not an Undertaker fan in general, but DAMN that was a good one.
One more thing: Look at last year's Wrestlemania...same 11 matches...
The Jericho/Regal match was tepid at best, the Test/Guerrero match blew, the women's match wasn't even a match, the APA/Tazz/RTC match sucked...and the dreadful gimmick battle royal. That's 5 of 11 that sucked...compare that with this year where most every match was at least pretty good.
Marks.

It's not funny, my ass is on fire...
Thanks to WWFallon for the sigpic!!!
I don't care what anyone else says, the World Title Match MUST be the main event for Wrestlemania. It's just the way it is. I'm still pissed about WM VII. It is always the marque match on the marque show.
How is your IC title match the opening match and the Women's title the second to last?
Hogan can't compete at that level anymore. Yes the crowd cheering for him made me want to move to Toronto (You know, besides the stories I've heard about the strip clubs up there). I'm not a Hogan fan, but I'm less of a Rock fan. IT was painful to watch hogan look so hollow walking from the ring at the end.
Every match was a little sloppy. There were no flawless matches and nothing that will make this show a classic.

Garbage, absolute garbage.
Remember what happened last time Vince made a quick decision based on fan reaction? They hired Bagwell......
What really stewes my prunes about WMXVIII was all the potential it <I>didn't</I> live up to...
UT/Flair was the biggest dissapointment to me, it ended with such a whimper... the most wxciting part of the match was Arn Anderson giving UT the spinebuster. I was sitting there, going, "finish it, finish it, where's friggin Benoit??" but alas, no Horsemen to pull Flair's ass out of the fire, because this angle, like all wwf angles was done TOO SOON, and HALF-ASSED!!!
So what happens now? Flair hasn't avenged anyone, UT didn't "take out" Flair, he's still there... taker wins and walks away... the hell?
What happened to the NWO being a "lethal dose of poison"? Well, they may have whimpered, but at least their defeat has propelled the careers of the Rock and Austin right to the top!!! *end sarcasm*
Rock-Hogan........
nearly all of rocks moves require his opponents to be superior atheletes, you notice how he never makes contact on that atrocious belly to belly, and his opponent has to somersault over him? Hogan ain't doing that.... hell Hogan couldn't even sell the ddt right, he just looked like an old man looking for his cane.....
(note... when Flair, who's older than hogan, missed his "flip over the top turnbuckle and run to the other" move, he re-did it. When Hogan couldn't manuver his steroid-eaten body over the top rope, he dropped to the floor and rolled under.... That's the difference between someone who loves the business and someone who couldn't give a crap, people....)
Canadian fans want nothing less then to watch Hogan-Hart matches for eternity, that's why they cheer hogan. Screw them, screw him, screw everyone who cheered for that peice of crap.....
What the hell did they do to Chris Jericho? Why does HHH have to fake his leg being-re injured to make a Jericho win beleiveable? Why can't Jericho be the kind of character HHH was post DX? the crafty heel who's smaller than the big guys, but is good enough to get through the match? Jericho has the ability to wrestle circles around the entire upper card, snd he has the mic ability to make people despise him.... So why does he need Stephanie????
Answer: he doesn't, these Mcmahons need to inject themselves into the main event, constantly, Like Vince last year.... Steph booking herself into the main event is worse than Russo booking himself as the father of Stacy's baby....
OK, now after last night's Raw, the NWO looked like they were thinking "new plan" I can only hope that that can mean they will finally get it together the way it should be.... Hall, Nash, Xpac, Micheals, Credible, and possibly HHH.
anyway, I can only hope things get better before they get any worse... this short term booking crap killed WCW..... this split had better lead to something good...
Thanks to Hosp for the Idea:

I wasn't going to post... but I can not resist.
This wrestlemania was the greatest thing I have ever witnessed in my life as a wrestling fan.
I was there.
I was there to witness Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Rock, HHH, Jericho, Hall, Austin...
The only thing this show missed as a wrestling fan was having Shawn Michaels on the card.
It was fantastic... 68,000 fans screaming their heads off for Hulk Hogan was amazing... I thought I would be the only one... I was dead wrong.
I don't care what anyone says... it was fanfuckingtastic.

There seems to be a "live event" phenomena going on with a couple people here....if you guys loved Wrestlemania, I don't blame you. Seeing a show live is often a great experience. Seeing it live can make matches you'd ordinarily find awful to be great.
It's like watching a movie on the big screen at a theater....I remember watching Independence Day years ago, with a few hundred people at the movies. I LOVED the film at that moment....it was only a few months later, when it came out on video, did I realize what a piece of shit it was.
Worst thing about the Jericho / HHH match....I have to say it was Jim Ross. I mean, the guy practically whipped out HHH's cock and sucked it right there. First couple times he did it, it was alright, but by the end of the match, it was really annoying. I know he was trying to sell the drama, but it didn't work for me.
