It's really odd since I used to be such a big fan of his, but I haven't listened to Stern in the morning in God knows how long. Does anybody here still tune in? Is he still funny, or has his act gotten stale?

I actually listen to "Curtis and Kuby" in the mornings now on 77WABC.

I'm old.

I used to listen to listen to Stern when he was on 66AM WNBC (before WFAN even existed, even at 1050AM, when 1050AM was WHN). I think the last time I listened to him was sometime in 1986-87. Snapple only had one or two flavors and he used to do 20 minute live reads for The Beanstalk restaurant. That's about all I remember.

Nice health violation Seriously. They don't stand for that in New York.

I still listen to Stern and I must agree with brodieman those chicks-fish bits are played out. Artie is no Jackie! Stuttering John is still funny. The Mets suck. The only thing Stern lacks is that phone relationship that Ron and Fez have with their listeners. Everytime someone callsHoward and praises him he either tells the caller off or hangs up on him. Everytime someone calls Ron and Fez they are welcomed with open arms(as long as you stay on topic) and that

No. His act is old and totally played. He's almost 50 and been acting the 14 year old for 20 years now. His act has never changed. I used to love him back in the day, but the strippers on the radio bit is so old its growing moss.

I listen to him from 9:30am until 10am. It breaks up the monotony of my morning. I used to really like him, but I suppose I just grew out of him.

Rich got me listening to howard years ago, and I have to say I still like him.

I think Artie adds something new to the show.

but mostly I listen to howard cause he is the only thing good on the radio when I am driving to work--6:45 is to early to be driving~:)

jackie really was the heart of the show. wasn't he the head writer too?

That's just a title Jackie asked for so he could tell people that and to get more money on the road. Howard is and always has been the head writer.

Jackie leaving the show hasn't hurt it at all, they still do the voice and make fun of him.

It is really amazing how much Howard has changed in the last 5 years...he has changed his tune about many things...
His show has no snap to it anymore, but I listen nonetheless...
Artie is a great guy and will remain an integral part of the show until Howard Retires from Radio in a couple of years...
The only thing Jackie did for the show was create hour-long conversations about toe fungus and alcoholism as well as his many ramshakle homes...Not very funny stuff...
Howard has past his zenith and is due to go out soon...I will continue to listen to the end.
The Radio Chick continues to bore the hell out of me...

I still listen to him. I try not to anymore because he now represents the very ideals and practices of fame and being famous that he attacked for so many years. The problem is you can only listen to Ferrel shake it up for so long before its back to Stern. Theres nothing else to listen to in the morning.

Loner since day one.

I still listen and I do still laugh, although not as much as I used to, except when Gilbert is on. I think his show is still good, I think his movie was great, I liked both books. Even before he was super famous he used to talk about being a big time celebrity and having celebrity friends. He was never a man of the people, and never pretended to be, as far as I interpreted. He always put himself on some sort of pedestal. But, whatever, the show still rocks, and artie Lange is one funny man. Although I will say that ever since Jackie left, you rarely hear Fred anymore.

Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

Unlike Imus, Howard has a life after radio. Son of the Beach, a show he's producing for CBS, a cartoon for UPN, probably movies and another book.

I still do, because I'm a fan of talk radio, and I'd rather listen to Stern than the hideous local rock djs here in D.C. (anyone ever hear O&A goof on "Elliot in the Morning"? It's all deserved, trust me.) But Stern's changed. He's become hypocritical, in love with his own self and his own fame. Now, most of the show is just him talking about his goddamn girlfriend (talking to the significant other on the radio = NEVER funny. DG, comment?) or what celebrity he had dinner with the other night. It's tired.

I do miss Jackie.....Arties isn't bad though. Stern's pretty much lost his drive and passion, but he still has his moments. I usually just listen to the last hour and a half of the program, when he's doing the news. That's usually still good, to hear him and the others rank on celebrities and others.

Well I have to agree with some that have already posted that he has gone downhill since Jackie left. The news still is a funny bit sometimes and Artie is a good replacement for Jackie. Although I tend to always here him brag about hanging with the big wigs of Hollywood and talking about how he likes to drink now (whooo hoo hoo). But generally his show totally does not appeal to me anymore, I just dont find him funny anymore...

I started listening to Howard in all seriousness at the age of 6 on WNBC, and I was hooked ever since. I listened every afternoon after school. I got out of the habit for a few years when he switched to mornings, but by age 11 I was listening everyday and taping it to listen to later. I've got all the Channel 9 shows on tape, I thought he was great. That said, his show turning shitty corresponds directly with his movie, because he saw he could spread his focus and still do a radio show, something he didn't think possibile early on. Well, he's still doing it, but to me, he's a ghost of the genius that was. His spite for life was ok when he made fun of who he has become. I related to his surburban rants on nothing. But it doesn't escape me that my departure from pre puberty and puberty coincided with my diminished interest. Where else did it go wrong? Take your fuckin pick!!! The divorce, the Jackie departure, the too-long stop sets, the paranoia, the failed movie who knows, and sadly, who cares anymore. If I listen 5 mornings a month, that's a lot. I get more entertainment from my CD player. O and A suck now for my money too. They are falling into Howard's trap, as every show is the same. Opie's not talented, and Anthony is overextended due to that. They will NEVER dethrone Howard in the mornings. Someone will, but not them. And I used to really dig them, and I"m glad I did, because I wouldn't listen to Ron and Fez without them. A wonderfully varied show, with something new everynight and 2 guys who sound like they are having fun doing what there doing(whether they are or not). Howard sounds bored, as do O and A more and more(at least Howard has achieved something in his career, and he has a right to coast based on 15 great years he gave NYC). O and A were OK and on the verge of greatness, but they've become the "can we see your stuff" hour. Humilate a woman, bring in a comedian, dum-dee-dum for those 2 shows. Damn I didn't mean to go so far off topic there, but someone mentioned O and A taking the King's throne and I just can't see it!!!

I still listen occasionally (it makes the DC beltway semi tolorable) but not as much as I used to. I think the tension from Jackie and from his marriage added alot to the show and, while I like Artie, I think the show is on a downward slide.

I still really like Howard alot. The show has gotten me through some long mornings. Artie Lange is incredibly funny and I am so happy he is with the show now and Jackie is gone.I was never really a big Jackie fan. I do really enjoy Robin's news, I look forward to it . Although I am still sick of hearing the "I inveting everything" rants....When he bitches about everyone stealing his ideas and bits I am ashamed that I listen, that really pisses me off. Did ya know Howard invented The Osbornes? If you did, so what..who cares..MTV ran with the idea...you didn't , get over it.

Apparently he invented celebrity boxing too (referring to the recent celeb boxing on FOX), because a thousand years ago he had Frank Stallone fight Geraldo Rivera.

Yeah, the "great inventor" stuff is really stupid, and just makes him out to be a sad, pathetic man desperately seeking a legacy in the business.

I don't listen as much as I once did. Still catch him whenever I can. He was better years back when he couldn't get famous guests because they didn't want to be associated with him. Now, he can get any guest who's promoting something, (except maybe Kathy Lee Gifford), and the interviews don't seem as interesting. But Gilbert Godfrey is one of his funnier guests. And the Sam Kinison stuff was great
