I wouldn't say greatest rock and roll band. BUT definitely in the top 5. Probably one of the best live shows I have ever seen. 4 1/2 hours one break.
Best shows ever:
Stones -- Steel Wheels
Bruce -- Born in the USA
U2 -- Joshua Tree
Aerosmith -- Permanent Vacation
Stevie Ray Vaughn -- Soul to Soul tour.
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.
I could NEVER get into Bruce, dont know why though. I turn the radio off when I hear one of his songs

There's a place in the world for the angry young man With his working class ties and his radical plansHe refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,He's always at home with his back to the wall. And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,And he struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross-And he likes to be knowns as the angry young man.

My favorite Sprigsteen album is "Nebraska".

I hate how everyone assumes that since I'm from New Jersey I'm a Springsteen and Bon Jovi fan. Hate them both with a passion! There I said it!

i love bruce. was lucky enough to catch him for the first time like two years back or so when he played the CAA. also went to go see him at MSG. that was an awesome show - i had floor seats one row behind the VIP seating. it ruled!

one of them. in my personal opinion, only led zep tops them.
i saw bruce in albany, 3 1/2 hours of pure rock n roll salvation!!! and that was from the upper deck of the pepsi center! (if only i was near the front)

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band ARE rock and Roll. Their shows are amazing! Even if you weren't a fan.... you would be by the end of the show. They've been rocking people for 30 years. Most bands can't last one decade.
Some people might argue that they're not the greatest of all-time. Maybe yes .. maybe no. But they are, without a doubt, The greatest rock and roll band going today.

Springsteen used to put on a great show. But I must admit that the "Born in the USA " tour was not as good as others. I saw him New Years Eve 1979 at the Nassau Colliseum and despite a half hour break and then ten minutes at the end he played for a bit over 5 hours that night. His shows opening the Meadowlands Arena were also fantastic. I had 6 nights with back stage passes

I don't know about his diminishing stage prowless, since I didn't see him back in the day. But the only 2 times I saw him, his most recent MSG and Meadowlands Stints he blew me away, and took me from being on the fence to a full fleged Bruce fan. Me and 2 of my boys too. I think that's where the love Bruce fans have for him comes from. They are simply the Greatest Bar Band in the world. Greatest Rock Band? I don't know if Bruce can top the Stones, but he sure holds his own, and the E-Street has definately aged better as a collective than the Stones and their littany of support musicians. If anything hurts them as a whole, it's Bruce is such a star without them, as his late 80's early 90's solo efforts are equally strong, but in a different way. But Jersey and Bruce RULEZ as they say in Jersey.

Is he being inducted to the R&R Hall of Fame this week? And guess who was one of his inspirations.(Did you know"Hungry Heart" was written with the intention of giving it to the Ramones to record?<P>
