Unofficial ronfez.net Volleyball Team?

I know JerseyRich had a post about a softball team, but I think it was more about a pick-up game as opposed to a team in a league.

Anyone wanna join a volleyball team in a real league and represent (unofficially) Ron and Fez and ronfez.net? Volleyball is a lot cheaper (no more than $1000 a team, versus over $1500 a team for softball), it's easier to evenly divide playing time, women HAVE to play, and most leagues have a wide range of skill levels. The main drawbacks is games would take place at times Ron and Fez are on the air (though we could Spy Report them with results).

I'd be willing to handle the business part if we joined a Manhattan league. I doubt we can get funding from anywhere (though I'd look into it), so people would have to pay out of pocket. I'd like to keep the roster to 9 paying regulars, with at least 3 women, so that everyone can play alot. That means a per person cost of around $110 for a 10-game season.

While I've never met you, judging by your posts I'd guess you're all woman. :)

However, volleyball is 6 to a team, and you're the only woman who's shown interest. We'd be forced to play with only 5 players, since you can't have more than 4 guys on the court at once. And BTW, I said we need MORE women, so I stick out my tongue at you.

Mrbungle, the league I was considering is in Manhatan, with gyms in in places ranging from chelsea to the Upper West and Upper East side.

Sorry to post so much in the topic, but I wanted to answer these questions.

Just an update. Since interest was tepid at best, I'm not going to pursue this. IMO, I think it would be nice to have a team that gets together weekly and "represents" the Ron and Fez Show and ronfez.net. It might give the show some advertising.

Anywhoo, for now consider an "unofficial" ronfez.net volleyball team a no-go.

Thanks to those who expressed interest (inkgrrrl, figment, legroom, mrbungle. I'd include sheeplovr but I knew he wouldn't play ;) )
