I was 6 years old when it came out. Now that they are rereleasing it, i have to go and see it again. i wanted to go home with ET so badly. i laughed and cried during that movie. Is anyone else in this boat or have i just lost my mind? I feel the unexplainable need to retouch a fond memory from my childhood.

I've never seen it before and might take my nieces to see it if my sister doesn't.

It will be interesting to see what the new scenes will be. I heard that they took out the guns from the FBI agents and replaced them with walkie-talkies. Hmmm. revisionist cinematography?
