I am sorry but online lingo is here to stay...
So if you don't think its kewl...or it doesn't rawk...Just remember the language has been changing and evolving for thousands of years...And computers are just another step in the evolutionary scale.

I think LOLs and Ha Ha's are fine because they are basically necessary to convey the tone of your statement (that gets lost in text). Also, they are a good response on IMs to things that don't have a response.

But, kewl, grrl, rawk, sk8r, and all that other shit is lame. I use kool alot, but that word is kool.

I don't understand the need for "kewl" instead of "cool" and "rawks" instead of "rocks"... you're typing the same number of characters.

Let's go in the "not-so-way-back machine", when baud rates were measured in hundreds, and hard drives in 10's of megabytes (and about $700) for a 10 meg!!!) If we were talking about conserving space and stuff in that day and age, then abbreviate all you want. But right now, you can pop in another 20 Gig for $100 or so, so its not like you're saving THAT MUCH space.
