I heard a comic say this recently..why would he? Is Jersey that bad? The people seem nice, and the tomatoes and sweet corn are great. "Armpit"? Rude!

Fuck all assholes who say that shit about Jersey. I live in Northern Jersey and I think its great. Drive 1 hour south and your down the shore, drive 1 hour north and your in the mountains, drive 15 minutes east and your in the City. So much to do so close. I love people who say shit about Jersey, if you dont like it keep the fuck out. We wont miss youse!

As someone who lives in Manhattan and a New Yorker my entire life, I gotta tell you there are a lot of great things about Jersey.

1. 5 minutes over the GWB is a great shopping center with little sales tax on purchases. (I love Target)
2. Atlantic City for day trips
3. Best views of NYC anywhere
4. Jersey girls have the greatest accents and hair
5. It's the gateway to the West!
6. Yogi Berra lives there.

Granted, there's a lot wrong with the state, but let's concentrate on the good things!

As the Official Representative of New Jersey for the message board I must defend my homestate! I must admit that Jersey does not look good if you are looking at it from NYC...but that is because these so-called comedians have not ventured into the state any further than Newark...UGH!

Can I recommend that you all take a trip down here to my neck of the woods. Not far from here are beautiful forests about 20 mins from here there are farmlands and yes....COWS...All I am saying....Is give NJ a chance... :)

While working in Manhattan certainly has its perks, its so much nicer to go back to Jersey every night. I like being able to drive my car and not pay for parking.
I always hated living here growing up, but the more I see of this country the more I dig NJ. I got the greatest pizza an hour north, the best cheesesteaks an hour south, hot women on the beach 30 mins east, and all the gambling I need down in AC.
NJ Represent!
~ W?

the tomatoes and sweet corn are great

got that right...

the garden tomatoes are The Best... You can never find anything like it at the Supermarkets...

I also plan to pull out a play area and put a small cornfield in the backyard this year, it will be my first time growing corn...

I remember this comedian John Mulrooney, saw him at Rascals, Funny Man...
He said that when Jersey girls go to the bathroom they tell you they're going to take a "nice steamy dump" LMAO

I wouldn't live anywhere else than in Dirty Jerz. The only reason why we get a bad reputation is because people see the stank ass turnpike, and judge our state on that. Jersey is so much more than Newark and the Turnpike. Jersey is one of the richest and most densely populated states in the US. All I have to say is that without Jersey and its shore, nobody would know who the Boss, Bruce Springstein, is. So all you Jersey haters can suck my muthafukin dick, and we still smokin. What!

Basking Ridge also holds the communcation center for the country. Besides reeking of awesomeness, we also may be one of the first to be bombed in a war because of this.

Jesesy is one of the greatest states in our union, where else can you spend hours in a mall, drive 10 minutes to go to the beach, drive another 15 minutes to a park and go hiking or just sit down and enjoy the scenery

those fucks who say things about jersey, are just jealous! :P

Y'know, I used to be a big advocate for hating NJ, and I too called it the "armpit" and would always make those corny jokes like "Oh, you're from Jersey? What Exit?"

Recently though I've been forced to spend some serious time in several parts of it and I have to say its not as bad as I thought. Some of our Wrestlemania attending board members have super nice houses and its not smelly there. My current boyfriend is from New Jersey as well and while its not the "nicest" section, its not as awful as I thought it was. I might even consider moving there one day (perish the thought, I know).

Oh and Erole, as far as nuking CT goes, please do me an f'n favor. I hate living here.

Cheesequake State Park is a wonderful area of biodiversity....But it does smell...But its a good smell...Most of the little fishies and other aquatic species are born and raised there before they venture out to the ocean...What what?

Of course Jersey has it's tasteless points like the smelly section on the turnpike by Elizabeth, but you'll find that in ANY state you're in. We have good points here. We have history, the shore, gambling, great parks and recreational areas. In about 2 hours you can go and play roulette in Atlantic CIty, party til dawn in Hoboken, go to the beach in LBI, see some historic landmarks in Morristown, and go camping in Dingman's Ferry. What more can you ask for? Besides.....Jersey has hot ass chicks like Sweet Melissa, French Bread Pizza, and Ice Cream Girl.
