Sunday night, an intensely graphic documentary will air showing the September 11th attacks up close and personal. Do you think you will watch it?

I am still unsure as to whether I will be able to or not. The events of that day are the most devastating things that ever happenned to me. It plunged me into a depression the likes of which I never knew existed. I finally had to seek medical help, and to this day, remain on 40 mgs. of Paxil a day to keep the anxiety attacks and depression at bay.

I just returned to work last week, and for many many months, I truly did not want to live anymore. I was overwhelmed with sadness, and didn't think I'd ever be able to enjoy life again.

I've moved on, but obviously will never forget that awful day. I question whether I'm strong enough to watch this just yet.

Thre is no simple answer to your question. If you feel that watching and reliving the horror will make you feel sad do yourself a favor and don't watch.

For many people, the wounds are still fresh and have only begun to heal.

Feeling "unable to watch" is OK and a perfectly valid response.

The converse is true as well.

I will surely watch... I just feel it's reality, something that happened that noone should ever forget...
I too was shaken for some-time and felt very insecure and violated, like a stranger had came into your home...
Hopefully there will be some good that will come from this... Maybe it will make the world a slight bit more civilized and the leaders of the world will take more responsibility for the actions of their people...
Only time will tell...
I watch in amazement at the filmage of the planes entering the WTC... Maybe because at that moment you are not thinking of the people inside, only the shear physical force and the mass of metal against metal and the size of the fireball that ensued...It's hard to grasp...
It's like the Holocaust documentaries, I can always watch them...
Reality, as horrible at times as it is, is in my mind better to watch than any Hollywood Movie...Not in an entertainment sense but a learning one...

i will definately be watching it.. it is now a piece of our american history.. this is the largest tragedy on US soil. there have been a ton of stuff on the OK city bombing. i will be watching it not to feel sad or to get pissed but it is a testament to our society. it will show how in our darkest, we the rude americans bonded truly as one people of the united states... i will be taping it to show my children one day to show how great america is.

I will be glued to the set...I hope that they do not turn it into a stupid...corporate type thing...Uncut footage needs to get shown in its raw format...No tampering...I am looking forward to see what they do with it...It will be tough to watch.

Gvac, I think there's absolutely no reason for you to watch it given what it did to you. Don't give into any sort of temptation or curiosity to, because I think in your case specifically(and plenty of others), it would be better for you not to, given the affect that day had on ya. Just my opinion.

I must say I work sunday night on the over night but will come into the city and watch this at the firehouse aroundthe corner of my hotel. I will bethere with a couple ofmy firefighter friends, unfortunately the wounds are still fresh out andmust say i have done 15 funerals from this and have 10 still missing so itwill be very hard to see, especially since i might see some ofmy lost friends in there but ithink i need to watch it for my self and for my healing process...at leastthat iswhat i think is best for me

I will not watch it. I won't forget and the way that senseless tradegy occurred I really don't know who would want to see it. My family has been effected as did I and if I dare turn it on I'll just break down in tears.

I really can't.

I envy how open you are about your depression. Depression is an umimaginable feeling that I would NOT wish anyone to have.

Thanks for listening during my "roller coaster ride" of emotions!

I wish you the best at your new job, the new increase in Paxil, and in life ... you truly deserve it!

As to your question, at least tape it/TIVO it ... then you will have it if and when the time is ready for you to watch ...

While I must admit that watching it would be interesting...I've seen it all before...millions of times...and I don't think I need to see it right now...I just don't think it does any good to drill something into your head that you already know...

I am going to watch. I'm sure it will be disturbing and I stongly suggest to anyone else who plans to watch be prepaired for that. I am a former Marine and I've seen alot of fucked up shit, like a decimated Kuwait city and a diseased and bombed out Somalia and I thought I was pretty
