Before caller ID, the prank phone call was probably the funniest way to entertain yourself and your friends as a kid.
Besides calling any "Lipshitz" in the Brooklyn White Pages, we had so many other "victims". There was one "Frankenstein" listed, we annoyed the hell out of that guy. And all of the angry black guys with presidential names, like Thomas Jefferson or George Washington, what fun!

We looked in the phonebook for names...Remember calling someone with the last name of "Roach". When they answered we said that we were the "exterminator" and we were coming to get them...

We used to call the local pub (much like Bart Simpson) and ask if a "Mike Oxhard" was there. I assure you, hilarity ensued.

Prank calls were the best
I remember calling plumbing emergency numbers at like 2 in the morning and sending them on wild goose chase's.....

Pranking radio shows was always fun. My friends and I would call Bob Grant and use angry black voices. He almost stroked out.

Nowadays everybody is scrared to make prank calls because of caller id. All you have to do is punch in *67
and they won't be able to see your phone number.

I "believe" my friend and I were the original Jerky Boys.By that I mean that we recorded the calls.There is still a cassette tape in existance today almost 35 friggin' years ago!
The tape includes "classics"like ....Hello Joe's Junkyard,please come and tow my junk car away.I live at ....

And here I am today.
