The more people I run into in life the more I realize how many Ex-military there are all over the place. I'm betting this board is no different. Also if anyone is feeling patriotic enough to actually join the military, you should ask any questions you have about it here. I was in the NAVY for a very short time, I suck they gave me a medical separation which means I was never in the military! On top of that I was given a code saying I was not alot to join any military ever!

I joined the USCG in 1969 to avoid viet nam. My dad advised that bit of knowledge. I became an ASM(survival swimmer) in the Guard .
I served in Viet nam between the years 1970- 1972 picking up downed pilots, divers and drowned sailiors,

Same for me, about 4 weeks...

2 days before flying to San Diego my older brothers friend gave me a gram... I partied with my neighbors that night...
When I got to SD they took a urine test but it never dawned on me... 3 weeks later I'm sitting in the Admin office with another guy from Jersey, had to leave...
Major low point of my life...Took an express bus back home...
It was an experience... Got to see what boot camp was about, was really enjoying it and doing well til the results came in...

What do you want to do? I work with SWOs (Surface Warfare Officers) -- they're shipdrivers. You could also consider becoming an Intel officer, going the Supply Corps route, or becoming an EDO (Engineering Officer).

I was in the US Army from 96-2000.
My MOS was 11 Mike. (Infantry and Bradley Gunner) but spent my last 6 months in the S-2 shop (Military Intelligence) while waiting for my DEROS date.

Got my Bravo 4 identifier (Sniper) after another 6 weeks in Ft. Benning at the end of '98.

While in garrison, I went to Belgian Commando exchange training, but did not complete the training due to injury. FUCK!

Stationed in Germany (Charlie 1/18th) and deployed to Kosovo and Macedonia.

ETS'd the day of the Y2K new year and I've gone back to being a professional musician. Overall... a good experience.
