I've been to a few concerts in my day. In 92 It was the "Use Your Illusion" Tour with Guns-N-Roses and Metallica at Giants stadium. Metallica rocked for 3 hours and GNR rocked as well for about 2 1/2 before I guess Metallica fans starting throwing things at AXL. Needless to say AXL cursed off the security and the fans and walked off in the middle of Knocking on Heavens Door. A drunk ass Duff slurred off some coments before destroying the end of the song with his breaking voice. In 94 I saw a Sucicidal Tendencies/Danzig/Metallica show at the Garden State Arts Center. This show was fucking sweet. In 96 I saw the Ramones at Coney Island High in the Village. I was shocked how good they were and the 100 people crammed into that basement just loved getting felt up. After that I was in Hawaii were I saw the "warped tour" in 98 I think headlined by Suicidal Tendencies with other "skater" type bands like penny wise. Was'nt worth 8 hours in the sun to see ST for 45 minutes. In 2000 I think I saw Rage Against The Machine at the Blaisdale in Hawaii. They rocked but only for like an hour. Finally the last one was ST once again, this time at a club in Hawaii in 2000. It was OK. By far the best was the Suicidal/ Danzig/ Metallica show back in 94. Godamn I'm longwinded.

I was pissed when i lived in Tenneesse and had to catch a flight to California the very night the Stones were playing in Nashville back in 97. I passed up seeing White Zombie for like a $10 ticket in Asbury Park NJ...and i skipped the Megadeath/ ST show in 93 to watch Riddick Bowe Knock Holyfield around for 12 rounds.
You may now fell free to post your concert stories......

In 94 I saw a Sucicidal Tendencies/Danzig/Metallica show at the Garden State Arts Center. This show was fucking sweet.

Dude, we've been to a lot of the same shows I think...I was there, and goddamn, Suicidal tore the house down...Metallica were great that night, but Suicidal Tendencies blew me away...

and i skipped the Megadeath/ ST show in 93 to watch Riddick Bowe Knock Holyfield around for 12 rounds.

Was that the Friday the 13th show at the Ritz? Cause I was there, and it was wayyyyy violent...it looked like a gang war during ST, but to date, it's the best Megadeth show I'd ever seen...

Beastie Boys at Nassau Coliseum in '95 was awesome, Mr. Bungle at Birch Hill on my birthday '98, Faith No More at Malibu Beach Club in '95 <after the previous night at Roseland...NICE!> and 15th row center for KISS at the Garden the first reunion tour '96...

God I've been to a lot of shows :)

My personal fave is Radiohead at Liberty State Park last summer. Awesome.

that's definitely one of mine... i went to both shows, and they were both just amazing.

also, i saw bright eyes acoustic last summer, which was basically just conor (the singer/songwriter/guitarist/etc) and his guitar at the village underground... such an intimiate little place, i was right up front for both shows. that was probably my most incredible night

Hell yea it was friday the 13th. I think it was 92 actually and even 10 years later I remember having a bad feeling that day and after school some friends and I hit a fucking tree HARD. I barely made it out of the hospital in time to get from Jersey to Brooklyn to watch the fight. There was a train full of dudes going to the city to see the concert

Here we go with the top 5 :
1) Tibetan Freedom Concert Sat 6/7/98 and Sun 6/8/98, too many bands to name played : Ben Harper, RadioHead, U2, A tribe called Quest, Biz Markie, Pavement, Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready, Foo Fighters.....best shit I ever been to!
2)Red Hot Chili Peppers at Nassau Colliseum Dec 15/95: drove from Queens in like 5 feet of snow(remember that storm?)show was crowded as hell and the energy was off the charts
3)Deftones at Roseland 11/17/98...seen em everytime they played in NY...this show always stands out for some reason
4)Moby at Hammerstein Ballroom 10/18/2000...went cause my friend had an extra tix and was really shocked at how great the friggin show was...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
5)Everclear at Roseland 4/21/96....Everclear kicked major hiney but it was the opening band Hagfish that killed and blew them away

In a world of lies it is the man who tells the truth who must be silenced!

Ok Johnny I went to the first one that you mentioned and agreed that kicked ass...the second Metallica one with Suicidal and Danzig I saw at Middletown Fairgrounds in Orange County NY...and that show totally blew the f***ing roof away...By far one of the greatest I have ever seen...but to me the greatest has to be the U2 Zooropa tour in Yankee Stadium. Now that was a kick ass show...

)Everclear at Roseland 4/21/96....Everclear kicked major hiney but it was the opening band Hagfish that killed and blew them away

Hagfish rocked, I saw them in '95 at the Limelight opening for Reverend Horton Heat and the Supersuckers...I worked at Tower at the time and had a promo only Hagfish shirt which I wore to the show...after they were off, the singer is walking around the bar area, sees my shirt and flips...he hadn't seen that one out there yet, and was psyched that anyone even knew who they were...a great guy...

lollapalooza with rage and tool beforel they were big, on the second stage. i cant even remember who else played, i think ministry.

Actually you're thinking of 1993, which was:

Primus
Alice In Chains
Rage Against The Machine
Tool
Babes In Toyland
and I forget the rest...

Ministry was on '92 with:

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Ice Cube
Soundgarden
Front 242
Pearl Jam
Lush
Cypress Hill <2nd stage>

this if ofcourse followed closly by the aerosmith touring with fuel last summer, it's so cool when they came out onto the lawn at the arts center in jersey and sang Dream On 5 inches from my face.

I've seen tons of shows but I'd prolly have to say that my favorite was the summer of '99, Continental Airlines arena, Beastie Boys & Tribe Called Quest & MixMaster Mike.

We had floor seats for general admission and we go there early enough that we were right against the railing and I highfived all the dudes from Tribe and I was mere feet away From the love of my life, Mike D (not to be confused with Mikey D). He was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

I had just graduated highschool and finally got to see a show I had been waitng since 8th grade to see.

Oh, and this concert was the last time that Tribe ever performed as a complete group.

Good times.

Oh yeah, but if I hadn't had a 102 fever and been deathly ill the Reelbig Fish/Goldfinger/Zebrahead/LooseNuts show that I missed prolly would have been the best.

Coolest was Coyote Shivers at Coney Island High w/o the rest of the band just him, the mic and a guitar for an hour.

Oddest, yet cool, was about '91/92 at Goldfingers in Manhattan(yes there was one in Manhattan back then) Scatterbrain performed. And the whole time the girls never stopped dancing and no-one payed any attention to Scatterbrain. Tommy Christ is not a an attractive man.

The best concert that I ever went to was the first Tibet Freedom concert in San Francisco. It was a two day show at Golden Gate Park. Here's a quick list of bands that played:
Rage, Beastie Boys, RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Beck, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest and The Fugees.

The other two that I went to in NYC and D.C. were pretty cool too.

I saw the Counting Crows at William Paterson College last fall. I was front and center for the entire show. I got to meet the entire band afterwards! They're my favorite band.

Radiohead at Liberty State Park was an awesome show too. Radiohead playing with the NY skyline as their background was so hypnotic and relaxing. They should have shows there every summer. It seemed pretty convenient for both NY and NJ. I'd rather go there than the Arts Center.

Beastie Boys an Rollins Band at Roseland somewhere around 94/95. Both groups tore it up that night.

Every single RAGE show that I've been to!!!!

Good times..

Dave Matthews in the summer of 1996 was my first concert at the Garden State Arts center.. I was in the 3rd row or some shit.. it was cool..

my favorite was the summer of '99, Continental Airlines arena, Beastie Boys & Tribe Called Quest & MixMaster Mike.

I actually took vacation from work at the time to go to all 3 area Beasties shows, and the Continental Airlines arena show was awesome...I just can't remember if it was at that show or the Garden show the night before where Q-Tip came up through the stage during the Beasties set to do "Get It Together"...amazing...

On a related note, KRS-1 did the Nassau Coliseum show of that tour and su-hu-hucked...

I saw Rage Against the Machine and Wu-Tang When they were on tour together, (actually i saw the last show they did before the tour ended because of a fight between wu tang and a rage road guy)
I saw the beastie boys and tribe called quest in amsterdam on April 20th---and you know that was killer
plus the smoking grooves tour over the 3 years they had it with among others: George Clinton, Ziggy Marley, Cypress Hill, Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes and the roots.
And last summer i either saw the warped or twisted tour with: Moby, Outkast, Nelly Furtado, the Roots, Paul Okenfeld and some other raver bands

I saw that Beasties show at continental too with Q-tip it kicked ass. I was kinda pissed they brought up the bombings we did earlier that week though but it's the Beasties so I guess it goes with the it. I would have liked to see them with Rollins, that sounds awesome.

Something really cool happened at a Dave Matthews concert I went to a few summers back at Giants Stadium. I know I went from Rollins to Matthews I listen to everything. Before I get into it can anyone tell me why they are regarded as a great live band? It's one of the worst shows I ever went to. Some guy played the flute for half an hour!!

Anyways towards the end of the night everyone had their lighters in the air and a few gusts of wind overtook the stadium during the encore, blowing out the flames. The effect though looked like sequends flashing or sparkles. Really cool looking.
